MainlyPainting
hi guys, not really a space wolves guy but i am starting a project soon on a 5 man team of Space Wolves "band of brothers" style diorama and am thinking about the paint scheme, i'm not too hot on the current colour as the space wolves look baby blue-ish and want mine to be grey. the real question is...is fortress grey good enough for the main color or has anyone got any better colors or tutorials they can show me? eschonle
Personally what I do is do a black spray undercoat, then a 50/50 mix of Shadow Grey/Space Wolves Grey for the armor plate, then highlight with pure SW Grey for the edges of the armor plates and such Hope this helped! If you need pics I can post some later tonight (I'm at my gf's house and don't have my models with me) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190378-space-wolves-grey/#findComment-2256706 Share on other sites
Hrothgar Beastslayer
I think that a base of Adeptus Battlegrey, followed by a drybrush of sodex grey then another drybrush of fortress grey looks fantastic, mine are all painted that way. commander alexander
For a plain grey, I basecoat with Adeptus battlegrey and mix in lighter greys as I paint towards the edges or light source. MainlyPainting
see the way i see it, is that the ultramarines just aren't dark enough for me. i usuallr paint dark angels however i've always loved the norse theme of the space wolves. my friends b-day is coming up and seeing as our gamer cla is called the "Wolf Pack" felt this would be a great homage to it. Ullr Direfang
I think that a base of Adeptus Battlegrey, followed by a drybrush of sodex grey then another drybrush of fortress grey looks fantastic, mine are all painted that way. I use primarily adeptus for my guys. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190378-space-wolves-grey/#findComment-2256841 Share on other sites

neonwolf
I don't have any pics to post since the only camera I currently have is on my cellphone, but what I've been doing for mine is using Armory grey primer then using a Badab Black wash over the whole model. I then drybrush with Fortress Grey and then start painting the details. I've also got one squad that I primed using plain old Krylon gray primer. Both are much cheaper than the GW primer. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190378-space-wolves-grey/#findComment-2257417 Share on other sites
