commander alexander
I think we would all enjoy a real battle report brother. Are you saying your opponent had chaos alpha legion and was using the space marines codex? :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190390-had-a-battle/#findComment-2256823 Share on other sites
CainTheHunter
We must thank Dan Abnett and his "Legion" for this :) Let's see what will happen after "Prospero burns"... Terrahawk
We must thank Dan Abnett and his "Legion" for this :P Let's see what will happen after "Prospero burns"... I am both really excited and cowering under the bed like a scared pup because of said book. :P I'm just hoping they don't turn the SWs into total douche bags and the 1K Sons being the misunderstood heroes... Some shades of grey never hurt anybody, because that's what WH40K is all about, but I'm hoping they'll have some restraint. Oh, and the AL are all heretics. Purge them! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190390-had-a-battle/#findComment-2257097 Share on other sites
SpaceWolf13C
i haven't read the new book yet but i think that the space wolves were dooing what they thought was right and so were the thousand sons. misunderstandings are why wars are fought. nurglespuss
Actually the whole alpha legion using the normal SM codex is quite viable, even before the book. Alpharius rebelled (back when it was just Alpharius), and took his legion. He didn't 'turn to chaos' as such, and thus Alpha Legion armies shouldn't really feature chaos mutations etc. Robute killed Alpharius, but his teachings allowed his legion to carry on autonomously, which they still do today. Purge them! Technically, they was misunderstood heroes. If the Emperor got his head out of his arse and listened to his warning, he could have adverted the war and saved humanity. What Magnus should have done is sent word to the other brothers and challenged them to come to Terra to defend the Imperium and had his fleet waiting for Horus and company when they popped out. The Emperor and the Wolves are no better than those they went against. Ok, the 1000 Sons was using sorcery aka the warp. Guess what! So was the Emperor! All the Primarchs was made from the Emperor, Magnus was all of that psychic potential of the Emperor. Space Wolves have Rune Preists, to hate sorcery, you buys like'em alot eh! Not to mention those are some nice feral features there bob...hey, pot calling the kettle black, mutant! Sorry, I happen to have both Space Wolves and 1000 Sons and like the Mirror Mirror ideas...I even have a Dark Angel army to match the Lion and Wolf theme. Someone has to step up and protect the boys in blue. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190390-had-a-battle/#findComment-2257516 Share on other sites

There's a reason he kept it forbidden (and no it isn't his ego). Magnus went knowingly against his father's orders, so he pretty much had it coming. ;) While he might've had good intentions, Chaos is really good at taking advantage of them as you as a filthy heretic might know. :D Oh and there's a difference between our Rune Priests using psychic powers and the practice of sorcery. Lumdin
I thought the alpha legion actually has 2 primarchs. Alpharius and Omegon or something like that. They both decided to help Horus because the Kabal showed them the possible futures, one being if Horus won, the pain and suffering for humanity would only be for a much shorter period of time and the second if Horus lost then humantiy would be warring for many thousand of years and end up being destroyed at the end. The alpha legion supported Horus to save the empire. I thought that was what I read.
