craigory45
I'm looking to get some paint supplies in a couple of days to paint up my wolves, pods, dreads, tanks, and everything in between. I was wondering what you guys would suggest every Space Wolf player needs in his painting arsenal. That includes brushes, Paints, glues, and everything else you cah think of. For Russ! Emperor's Scourge
Adeptus Battlegrey foundation, Fortress Grey, Codex Grey, and Space Wolves Grey. The full range of Citadel washes as well are useful. I don't have much experience with other paint brands, but I hear Vallejo are really good as well. Crimson Devil
Brushes: I prefer the Reaper brushes. I would recommend avoiding the GW brushes. I find them to be sub standard and over-priced. Paints: I prefer the P3 and Vallejo ranges. The GW metallics are pretty good and their Inks are awesome. Super Glue: GW is fine. Plastic Glue: Testors Primer: Dupli-Color Sandable Primer. You can find it in Auto Parts stores and Walmart. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190462-space-wolves-paints/#findComment-2257731 Share on other sites
Yeti
Agree with Crimson Devil ... GW brushes are craptastic. I've recently converted to Vallejo brushes and I love them. GW paints are fine. The foundation paints really cover well, regular paints are largely good and the washes do the job. Be sure to prime before hand, again GW chaos black works well. I'd suggest Krylon Matte Varnish to protect them afterwards. One suggestion, if you have the budget, is to get an air brush. You can base coat large numbers of minis really fast. WG Vrox
Look through the thread at the top titled space wolves converting, painting ect. from there find a color that you like and send a tell to the painter asking what colors they used. Its very much worth spending the cash on some good brushes those that are already mentioned are good. Just take care of them by cleaning every time your done painting or do a good cleaning if you are doing an extanded painting sessions such as 2 hours or more. If you do this, they will last for a very long time and worth the investment. agreed avoid GW stuff. Emperor's Scourge
I'd like to pick up an airbrush myself, but I don't want the GW one. Hard decision...even with the multitude of threads I never really got a feel for a general consensus.
