I thought that any crew effected result (shaken or stunned), also effected the embarked models, meaning that if the tank if glanced the unit inside is not firing out of it. Forgive me if I'm wrong, haven't got my Rulebook with me. If I'm right, then extra armour won't help, but Daemonic Possession should be ok because IIRC, vehicles with DP don't sudder crew stunned or shaken results.
