The Damned
I skimmed over the rules page and I've got a question. Is this going to have wheels or is it going to be a skimmer? If wheeled, what are you planning on using for the conversion. Looks like an interesting start. FireFist
It's going to be wheeled. I was planning on using the wheels from two SM bikes or back wheels from an ork buggy. I was planning to bitz order them. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190537-ussal/#findComment-2259166 Share on other sites
FireFist
Almost done. only road block is the need for wheels. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190537-ussal/#findComment-2259169 Share on other sites
Captain Mike
Slightly confused as to the rules, but this looks like a nice build coming along. Look forward to the finished peice! FireFist
So how are you confused about the rules? Ussal body still needs wheels. practically completed turret. This project needs is wheels, and more green stuff. Then I can get to the good part. Terminatorinhell
it's coming along nicely, can I borrow the idea in the future? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190537-ussal/#findComment-2259626 Share on other sites
FireFist
Maybe. I want to finish this and play test it. Though my fluff says that its a Promethean Fists only vehicle, I might be able to make an exception. What chapter is yours? C&C are welcome. This is my first vehicle conversion. I've done plenty of unit conversions just not vehicles. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190537-ussal/#findComment-2259630 Share on other sites
IronDuke
Nice rules, and the build looks good so far, although I can't help but feel that for such a small vehicle it is 'overmanned'. When compared to other space marine vehicles which all have spartan crews, in fluff terms I wouldn't expect 3 marines in such a small vehicle. Although that is a minor point :) Oh, and are you planning on sanding the plasticard around the gun turret, at present the edges look a bit rough? Cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190537-ussal/#findComment-2259634 Share on other sites

FireFist
Well created these in a hope of making interchangeable weapons. still need to test them though. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190537-ussal/#findComment-2265137 Share on other sites
Terminatorinhell
I think it would be better to use magnet find a square one and glue on onto the mount and another thinner, round one embedded in the gun itself that way you can easily change it :) As far as the magnet sites go KnJ magnetics is my favorite. FireFist
cool thanks for the advise. ordered the magnets already. well looks like my project completion date has been set back a bit. FireFist
finaly got the wheels on. Now I just need the magnets for the turret weapons. So how does it look now. C&C welcome and appreciated. This looks kinda good(not too crappy) for a first time vehicle conversion. Walter Payton
If I had to nitpick, I would move the wheels to outside the vehicle, and have flared wheelarches. That thing's centre of gravity is a bit too high for an ATV Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190537-ussal/#findComment-2268511 Share on other sites
Terminatorinhell
the wheels should indeed be moved out and perhaps some axle detailing could do well. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190537-ussal/#findComment-2268512 Share on other sites
Captain Mike
I don't like it, to be honest. Mostly because the first thing that sprang to mind was 'aww thats cute'. Which should never spring to mind when your looking at a marine vehicle. I agree that the wheels should be on the outside. It makes it look meaner.
