BulldogUK
Decided to start the new year with something I tend to steer clear off. A commission! Reasons are two fold. Ever since I entered the hobby many moons ago I always wanted to have a crack some Wolves, never got round to it though so this seemed the perfect opportunity to get it all out of my system and maybe just maybe save me spending a blinking fortune on a 'small' assault force of my own! <rolls eyes> Anyhow, I tend to work with tamiya paints so it took me a few experiments to get the right tones and colours that I was happy with http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/Wolfcomm01102.jpg Eventually I arrived at a nice bold classic look which should look effective on the table top (excuse the figure, only one I had lying around for a tester. It's the mainly the grey we are looking at here, rest is just filler) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/Wolfcomm01103.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/Wolfcomm01104.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/Wolfcomm01105.jpg The whole group consists of the following, pretty much finished the Razor and well on the way to finishing the raider too so will post pics ASAP http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/Wolfcomm01106.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/Wolfcomm0110.jpg Bah! Predictably I am already looking at what I have finished and thinking 'hmmmm, just a 'tiny' assault force would look quite cool next to the Crimson Ultrawings' :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190583-space-wolves-commission/ Share on other sites
Dejay
Very nice, clean painting there, it looks pretty damn good, keep it up. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190583-space-wolves-commission/#findComment-2259219 Share on other sites

Brother Loring
Superb! One thing that bugs me... Why are there no hamsters in those cyclone launchers? Ekgar_Wolf
Very nice and clean scheme there ¡¡ How did you make the shadows after the airbrush job and wich colour did you use to make those tiny lights? I look at the "before" and "after" and those wolves look really cool. BulldogUK
Superb! One thing that bugs me... Why are there no hamsters in those cyclone launchers? If they were mine, some small but very deadly wolf pups would certainly be going in the spouts! Anyhow, finally got a few good days of light and finished the Razor and Raider. He specified a finish along the same lines as my Crimson Ultrawing armour http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/WolfLandraider2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/WolfLandraider3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/WolfLandraider5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/WolfLandraider.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/WolfRazorback2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/WolfRazorback5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/WolfRazorback.jpg Next up is the Drop pod, should be making a start on the DN and Terms this week too hopefully Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190583-space-wolves-commission/#findComment-2267200 Share on other sites

Wolf Lord Ronin
Beautiful paintjob there with the test model. Really clean and nice highlighting, Im also a fan of that tone of grey. You must tell us your painting process for that Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190583-space-wolves-commission/#findComment-2267808 Share on other sites

BulldogUK
Hi Paladin/Wolf. Base coat black, work up through Tamiya flat blue, Medium blue, sky grey then finally light blue. The troops also require a brush blend of miniature paints blue grey and a final line of powder blue In the meantime, quick update, drop pod done, whole lot of snarling fury smacking you on top of the head! Luckily the customer has some common sense and he glued the doors shut....this was a big bonus as the open pods have to rank amongst one of the most boring things I have ever painted. I would rather stab my eyes with rusty nails than paint another! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/WolfDroppod3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/WolfDroppod.jpg Working on the dread now... Capt. Lysander
Your paintjob is by far some of the best Space Wolves ever! Your grey is not overly light nor dark, and has lots of battle damage. Your highlights are extremely clear, and bring the character out of them. Night Runner
Beautiful work BulldogUK. I suck at armour and I envy your skill. Can I ask you how you did the scratch work? Did you use the hairspray or salt technique, or some other kind of way. Master Toddius
Its always good to see a man use an airbrush really well. Nice color choices for the sprays. Just enough to create movement but balanced at the same time. The weathering effects look great as well. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190583-space-wolves-commission/#findComment-2272919 Share on other sites

Asrech
Now that's a dakka-dread! I like the darker shade of gray and the white missiles bring a nice contrast. I would like to see something more on the LR, since as it is now it's a bit to dark, with nothing sticking out to make it pop when seen from above. The icons on the side and front make it work when looking at it from an angle, but a small something on the roof would be the final touch IMHO :P Other than that, great stuff as usual bulldog. Cheers! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190583-space-wolves-commission/#findComment-2276836 Share on other sites

BulldogUK
Finished off the terms, one complete squad and 3 which are spread between units. I like how these have turned out, so much so I have 'wolfed up' my second set of Space hulk minis and will paint them ASAP! Scouts and PA marines next on the list http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/WolfTerminators3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/WolfTerminators4.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/WolfTerminators6.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/WolfTerminators7.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/WolfTerminators8.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/WolfTerminators.jpg Couple of nat light shots..see them march relentlessly towards their foe, destruction and feral savagery in their eyes... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/WolfTerminators5.jpg Uh oh...REEETRREEEEAAAAT http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/WolfTerminators2.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190583-space-wolves-commission/#findComment-2291754 Share on other sites
