Space Wolves Commission

Great stuff as always, as others have mentioned you've chosen a great color for the wolves. It does a nice job of referencing the old scheme while updating it to a more realistic look that is in line with common trends in mini painting. Also I am pretty sure you are going to manage to paint 3 larger, better looking armies before I can complete one small 750pt force!

Haven't had much time lately coupled with the light being terrible but managed to knock off some scouts for the commission

Why no Eyebrows I hear you say? Well, that's all down to the Wolve initiation rights. The drinking game!

The Eyepatch just goes to prove that you CAN reach a point where you are too drunk to shave off your own eyebrows with a 3 foot combat blade ;)

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse you bump into a Werewolf WEARING power armour DOH!

Those are some of the best wolves Ive ever seen! You have really struck a nice balance with the grey's particularly, not quite grey not quite steel blue but the best qualities of both.

Kudos!

wow the airbrushing

My airbrushing skills are pretty basic, I find finishing the miniatures with brush blending generates a little more definition along the edges and brings out the details. It's all down to colour choice really but I seem to have put together a good colour set here and am able to blend this tone of blue particularly well into the airbrushed base coats. The secret? Just a much loved brush, and plenty of spit and practice :)

What did you use for Arjac's Anvil bit?

I haven't got a clue to be honest, I am just painting 'em! If it's a GW part I would probably look towards the Warhammer fantasy Dwarfs?

Just a quickie before I 'retire' for a week or two!

Finished the 4 PA troops who made up the complete Squad, took me blinking ages to work out the compsition of the various units as the codex I recieved is in German. THEN I noticed they were all numbered on the bottom DOH!

Ongoing commission can be seen here

I have to say that having only just started the hobby, seeing someone paint something as great as this is inspiring me to get my a$$ in gear and do some painting of my own wolves! I'm such a novice though, I doubt i could ever replicate anywhere as good as this!

Fantastic work Bulldog!

Hate to be a parrot, but these look fantastic!

I've been thinking about investing in an airbrush for a while, and knowing next to nothing about them, do you have any suggestions of a good beginner brush, or the one you started on?

Am I right in saying that I saw a Titan foot in one of the first pics? ;) Could we maybe see it, though it has nothing to do with your commission?

About the commission, they are simply awesome. Nothing more to say...^_^ I am speechless

Anyhow, in the meantime, finished the last squad, just the big guy on his pooch to do now then all done!

The guy with the helmet tried to go AWOL and hide in the bottom of the box, he has now been painted, thoroughly reprimanded and returned to his correct unit!

Just to dot the I's and cross the T's he asked me to make up a banner with some sort of personal icon to show the whole army as my work. I figured there was really only one option! Keeps in the K9 theme too I suppose :D

the whole wolf pack can be seen on my website Wolves n stuff

Hopefully that's got it out of my system now and I won't want to blow any wonga on my own army!
