Captain Juan Juarez
Do Wolf Guard have any kind of rank within the Space Wolves Chapter, like they are a Veteran-Sergeant equiv.? Or is it that Wolf Guard IS their rank? As it confers honour and prestige on any holder of the title and any WG can be used as a leader. Also are there any known instances of a WG being used by the Deathwatch? i bow to the superior knowledge of my Wolfy Bretheren! Death Wolf
Wolf guard is their rank. Basically they are the equivalent of 1st company in codex chapters... and I think any SW that helps deathwatch would probably be a WG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190589-wolf-guard/#findComment-2259316 Share on other sites
Captain Juan Juarez
I gathered as much from reading the Codex, I just wondered whether there was any examples of them possessing an actual formal Astartes rank.. Which was a forlorn hope I suppose given the nature of the Wolves of Russ! stinkenheim
as has been said, they do have a rank and a title - Wolf Guard. Similar to things like Forgefather in Salamanders, or Brother Captain in the Grey Knights. Amongst other chapters they would have the equivilant rank of veteran marine as they are permitted to wear TDA. They wouldnt be regarded as vet srgt because they dont lead their own squad as such. wolf guard are the upper echelons of the space wolves, just below the Lords and other heores So yeah, similar in terms of rank but just a different name like our rune priests = librarian and wolf priest = chaplain (pretty much anyway before he shouting starts) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190589-wolf-guard/#findComment-2259334 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Yeah, Wolf Gaurd is as formal as it gets- just like Grey Hunter, Veteran Sergeant, Captain, Wolf Lord, Iron Father, etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190589-wolf-guard/#findComment-2259343 Share on other sites
