What do you guys think of my GM? First model I have painted in about 7-8 months, so I think he came out alright.

The painting is a bit rough, yet you have really good ideas, and some of it is executed with the right technique, albeit with a lack of practice. I am thinking of the inside of the hood, the freehand, and the cape. Now all you need is to keep your work tidy and get a bit more practice and it will be great.

I agree with Brother Mordeus, the mental part you really have down, the technique just needs to catch up a little :P

On the blade the color looks a little thick, I'm guessing that you primes black and had issues wth getting covering layers of the light colors? Try foundation paints as your base and work your way up step by step, and remember to keep the colors watered down a bit, each layer might not cover 100% but if you go up gradually it will work out.

I love the glowing eyes, a very nice idea that really makes this guy stand out, and shows that he's ready to stomp some daemon butt, with blade or mind.

Cheers!

I think the shot comming from the psycannon looks a bit too straight, as it appears to burst out of the gun, but then simply becomes a straight line.

That said I like the flames on the weapon, though I agree with Alex above me that the color looks a little thick, atleast from the front.

The hood. Glowing eyes.

Really, really, really awesome.

Well done and it fits a grandmaster very well. I love it.

Thanks for the great feedback guys. Glad everyone likes the eyes so much. I did some touchups on him, what I can without repainting him or at least large sections. Cloak and left shoulder's shield got the most attention. Hopefully he looks a little better.

@gil galed- The silver is painted, its hard to see in the pictures, but there is layering/shading/highlighting on the armor, but its faint because I wanted to keep him as bright as possible, a "pure" looking silver, even in battle. The psycannon is an interesting point, when I painted the blue on the shot I tried to keep a spiral going but it caused issues because of the blending's high water content. Do others think I should rip out the shot and keep it to just muzzle flash?

I think the cape looks better now with the crisp clean red :D

I'd say shorten the bolt, thin it down the closer it gets to the barrel or remove it. Since now it looks a little like he is fiering a major lascannon ( the thick beam ) more than a bolt. Since it's a psy-bolt the energy beam is a good conversion, but I still picture the "slug" being smaller than that. :cuss

I dont want you to feel like we are pressurizing you into desecrating your model though because we all think it would look better a different way, it still looks awesome and if it works for you keep it.

Also, how did you make the model? I'd love to make one myself, especially the hood
