AdeptusDavidus
In this instance (and referring to every other unit in the Space Wolves book as precedence of intent), it says "a Land Speeder", and not "one Land Speeder", as it does when referring to singular unit upgrades (like the Wolf Totem, Mark of the Wulfen, Special Weapons, etc). DV8 Are there examples of "a [unit]" that are definitely plural? That is, is there an example where, for instance, "a marine may exchange his whackadoo for a whazdakka for threve points"? I mean, I've been speaking English for a little while, and I'm fairly sure that "a" (or "an") is always singular. Trying to claim otherwise simply because in other instances it says "one" instead of "a" is ... a bit silly, at the least. commander alexander
Well you could always just use GW's pretty pictures for reference, one standard, one tornado, one typhoon. If anyone disputes, you can blame them. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190854-land-speeder-tactics/page/2/#findComment-2266966 Share on other sites

Trying to claim otherwise simply because in other instances it says "one" instead of "a" is ... a bit silly, at the least. I only meant in the context of progressively upgrading a squadron of Land Speeders. 'A' and 'an' are singular, yes, insofar as it's referring to one model. That is, a Land Speeder Typhoon isn't multiple models, it's one. Where a Typhoon is singular as in it's one model, you're not restricted to one per squadron, just that a model can only be stock, Tornado or Typhoon (and not any combination therein). When referencing other items of singularity, you'll note that the wording of said item actually says "one". Not "a Grey Hunter may carry the Wolf Totem", but rather, "one Grey Hunter may carry the Wolf Totem." But I don't think they're restricting you to 'one' Typhoon in a squadron, more so that when you upgrade a Land Speeder, it can be either a Tornado, or alternatively, a Typhoon. Basically when you upgrade a Land Speeder, you can keep it stock, upgrade it to a Tornado, or alternatively, upgrade to a Typhoon. You make that choice per Land Speeder you purchase in a squadron, and you can't combine the Tornado upgrade with the Typhoon upgrade.
