I'm always taking Rune Priests.

except that both are shooting attacks and therefore you shouldnt have use them both in the same turn.

we have very few non shooting psychic powers which is why the 50pts you had to spend on master of runes to mistakenly cast 2 powers is usually a waste.

Sadly, no. But I do buy master of the runes so I can cast say stormcaller and living lightning every turn, as I find both to be insanely useful.

To date though my favorite would have to have been a hail marry shot on a bloodthirster that paid off at 23".

I didn't know about the "only being able to use 1 psychic power shooting attack".

My friend plays Ahriman is does x3 Doombolts a turn...

Edit: What Psychic Powers do you recommend? I like to make balanced lits to play anyone and at the moment I usually take 2 Rune Priests. One has Living Lightning and Tempest's Wrath, the other Living Lightning and Murderous Hurricane. I have yet to use the Tempest's Wrath and not really sure about Jaws of the World wolf. What do people recommend?

The rule that states you can only use one psychic shooting power is in the main rule book under Psychics i belive, incase your friend asks.

Though, to the OP, the points your paying for that one RP is near the price it would cost you to run two of them! So you can still do double spells each turn, just from two different guys.

If I am only running one Rune priest I prefer to run LL/Jotww (no MoR since I can't use both)and I hatch hang out of the fire point of my rhino and zap stuff with LL until I cross the board and pop something with jaws.

If I run two, then One runs jaws and LL and the other runs LL and SC. Jaws is really really nice for dropping stuff with lots of wounds or stuff like FNP.

Sometimes though it is just nice to have options and taking two diff shooting attacks lets you use it for different situations. My Runepriest with LL/Jotww comes down in a pod and I try to use LL to pop tanks or Jaws to roll down a line of infantry.

Whilst that is the standard rule for psychics, special characters (such as Ahriman) have rules that allow them to be different.

Ahriman's Black Staff allows him to take 3 psychic tests a turn (including his force weapon) and he may shoot more than once, although at the same target.

i screwed over a dark eldar player with tempests wrath. he never actually lost anything to dangerous terrain rolls but making him sweat it out was totally worth it and it caused him to deploy his deepstrikers wrong so he couldnt get his shots off due to los

If a Rune Priest makes a psychic power shooting attack does the rest of the squad have to shoot at the same target?

Likewise, If your Rune Priest makes a psychic Power shooting attack (with say Living Lightning), can he assault a different/Closer unit?

Yes, unless they are longfangs.

No, unless he shot at and destroyed a transport so he can assault the things inside.

They really are just like any other IC with any other gun.

Technically, they can charge any of the units they shoot at. But why would you ever charge with Long Fangs?

ummm.. Lead by Logan Grimnar and to prevent being charged by anything with Furious Charge?

You could move, shoot and charge so you don't get hit by I5 Attacks next turn.

Unlikely but an example
