Angels_Salvation
Hey guys, So i just got some of the new legion models and am just about finished painting the squad leader. I would love some constructive criticism from you guys as to how i can improve him etc.. or simple suggestions for later painting jobs as i have 4 more to do :P Anyway here are the pics http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b62/Starscreams_Ghost/SNC00190.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b62/Starscreams_Ghost/SNC00193.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b62/Starscreams_Ghost/SNC00197.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191070-unyielding-spectre/ Share on other sites
lord gunthar
I think that that it is good and it will be an impresive squad if they are all painted at this scale, only thing i would change is for you to paint the plasma cells on the plasma pistol. juckto
Your flames are backwards. Yellow is the hottest part of the flame and is in the centre. Example of reverse scheme Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191070-unyielding-spectre/#findComment-2266573 Share on other sites
Lestat
Nice model. The banner and the bone is very well done. Just a suggestion, how about adding some colour to the eyes - just to draw the eye to the face. Other than that, it looks great. Your flames are backwards. Yellow is the hottest part of the flame and is in the centre. Example of reverse scheme Every flame I have ever seen always has the yellow tip - especially on things like candles, lighters and the open fire my Nan used to have. Personally, I think it's up too each individual how they want to paint the flames. If I remember my College science correctly, then the hottest part of the flame is actually the inner cone - the tip of the blue part on a lighter or bunsen burners flame. Hope that helps. David the Despoiler
I agree with some of the earlier comments, some color would be nice. Painting the eyes and the power cell of the pistol should do the trick! Other then that, looking good. Vadskær
Your flames are backwards. Yellow is the hottest part of the flame and is in the centre. Example of reverse scheme Super nice model! I like it a lot. Regarding the flames, the 'Eavy Metal team advocates the backward-approach, as it creates the best contrast between the dark armour and flames. If painted like "real" flames, then the tips of the flames would be almost black, and then create an imbalance on the model. The 'Eavy Metal method was mentioned and gloriously explained in a very recent White Dwarf. Lady_Mournival
You truly did this great model justice; except I would chime in with others in that you need to paint the eyes and the plasma coils a colour. On a sidenote, anyone think that this model would make a great chaplain with a little modification? especially salamanders. Aerixis
It's looking good buddy! My Legion of the Damned took ages to paint, I'm still not finished with them. I wind up doing like, 6 layers of highlights on them before I realise my weekend has disappeared.
