I really like it man, though I think it might be a tad vibrant....

I painted mine almost the same as yours, although after the Gryphonne Sepia wash I built up a layer of Iyanden Darksun and Golden Yellow, then neat Golden Yellow.

I think by keeping the bright yellow as a highlight it keeps it from looking too 'cartooney', in my eyes.

Also, when you come to highlighting them dont use Sunburst Yellow, try using Bleached Bone instead, it looks awesome!

Looking forward to seeing more dude!

Really like all your work, and your commanders pose is really cool. Simple yet kind of regal and authoritative.

I'll be watching this space. ;)

Thanks mate :)

I like brightness, although I really like those Fists, I'll try the Bleached Bone because it looks ace.

;) That's an awesome Sergeant! How did you do the chainsword arm pose?

Thanks mate, it's straight from the sprue ;)

Hey all, long time since posting in here, but I've been at it again.

( I as busy building WFB Chaos and Empire armies )

I decided to finish my Sternguard because, they're basically all I have at the moment

Only the power armour is done on this guy so far.

The worst thing is I had to read my own tutorials to remember how to paint them <_<

Also, I have this which I hate, the yellow isn't smooth at all, any ideas on a fix?

Thanks for reading all :)

Edit: I think something from Warseer is linked here, although I have reported it.

Great Imperial Fists! You make Dorn proud!

You use a different shade of yellow, but I really like it. Generally I see that there is the "shading into brownish" and the "shading into orange" methods. :D

I do the latter for mine.

It's funny to see so many "yellow-enthusiasts" commenting, Fists, Lamenters, Malevolents all around sniffing the awesomeness of yellow marines. :)

Yellow power armour FTW! It's for brave soldiers who don't need camouflage (even the mosquitos will attack), and for brave painters of course.

Respect to all of you. :)

He looks great Dejay!

This makes me want to have another go at my IF!

Thanks guys, it's appreciated.

Just a little update, I felt like modeling yesterday so built up some more Marines. I wanted them to look fairly dynamic, so with the spare bits that I have (not many) here's what I have.

Wow, so many replies. Thank you very much all.

@Brother Michaels, there is a tutorial for yellow on the first page :)

And another update, and I think I have finished my Dreadnought. I don't know whether I want a little more battle damage on it or not.

These really are beautiful Imperial Fists.

I must ask though what is the ratio of your golden yellow to water? I've been following your recipe but i can't seem to get the ratio yellow to water right.
