Surprising as black is never a colour I enjoy doing or find satisfying, saying that these seem to have been a lot more straightforward than I first imagined, managed to throw together the other 6 in a couple of afternoons! Anyhow, here they are, looking forward to the other 6 models due out in a week or so, that Kung Fu sarg looks fun! I noticed in another post, you mentioned that you had a Legion force in the works. Are you planning on adding anything else to it other than the Legionaries that are soon to be released? Well I wasn't really planning to but you just popped that idea in my head and now it's swimming about there wanting to break out! <big rolling of eyes> Defo want to have a crack at something like Ein's fantastic damned DN, maybe a vehicle or two might look nice in the Damned livery too. How did you pull off such a matt finish? ive tried sprays and different techs, but never achieve a true matt look. Ace as always bulldog! GK open up with 12 x shots hitting on 3, KILLING on 2's, plus Justicars stormbolter of course. BulldogUK Posted February 26, 2010 Author Share Posted February 26, 2010 I have wanted to do a Legion Dread for a long time but I have to thank Ein (bolter and chainsword) for his legion dread post and providing me with total inspiration, cheers :rolleyes:) Imagine my joy when I skipped over to ebay and found a second hand chaplain dread going cheap...woohoo! Gotta say, it's always fun searching for parts for projects like this I thought his actual proportions were spot on so I decided to go with his original ideas of adding the launchers to the dread, I also went with the banner idea too. I went for my own style of flames which were a little closer to the original troops design, along with a few skulls slapped on 'here n there' I hope I managed to achieve something equally as atmospheric without being too similar :) Note the skull missile heads, I remember reading some fluff stating that while the Legion bolters were no different from standard issue there were reports of skull headed missiles screaming across the battlefield when they were present, seemed fun and appropriate. Really enjoyed this little project. If I can tug a cheap raider from ebay I am very tempted to 'Legion up' a vehicle along the same lines, sigh.....I can already see where this is heading <shakes head> The orig dread came with a plasma, I decided to legion it up as a spare http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/LotDDread.jpg However I thought the hurricane bolter was much in keeping with the Legion grunt and brute force approach, it also meant I had more room to add flames and stuff http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/LotDDread4.jpg Few bits from the spares box and some plastic card magic, took literally a few hours one evening to knock up this little guy http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/BulldogUK/LotDDread3.jpg I didnt want it to be too similar to Eins original idea so decided to add a knacker banner rather than the skel torso, oh and I didn't have any skeletons either! You're too good at this ;) Seriously these are beyond Epic. The black is one of the best I've ever seen; more a charcoal black that the standard Chaos Black.
