My Ragnar is quite old, already:

Thanks for all the comments! I hope I do well too, although there are some very nice entries (the Imperial Fist jump packer, and the Salamander's Kor'sarro Khan conversion, pop up in my mind).

Oh... I had last seen him stil WIP... :P But he is AMAZING too..! You've totally captured that feral spirit Blackmane and all those wild, drinking, roaring sons of Russ poccess! Well done, you are truly inspiring, but I'll bet you hear that a lot! ;)

That is some damn snazzy painting.

Is it me (or the photo?) or is the glow effect on his pistol's coils muted/chalky compared to the rest of him?

Regardless, top notch.

Probably upon super close inspection it is. It's why I like being able to take good photographs, it lets me see all my mistakes and all the flaws in my painting, so I know where and how I can improve. When I painted my super-old Terminator Chaplain for Golden Demon, i used photographs at every stage to find and correct all my overpaints and mistakes (and there were a lot believe me). After doing that a few times, I've improved to the point where I don't make as many mistakes/overpaints as I used to.

It's good practice, and I'd recommend trying it.

My question is... why is his backpack so far out? Hes very thick.

Because like a champ I didn't fit properly and only realized after I'd attached his wolf pelt that the backpack wouldn't fit within reason. I had to cut the backpack in half laterally and yea it bulks out a little, but not enough to look super weird/awkward. My Ragnar's backpack sticks out a little further than normal too, as does my original Wolf Lord.

I hope if GW ever releases a new sculpt of Ulrik (as well as Ragnar and Logan), that it'll be half as good as the job you've done here.

Can I just second that? Good luck and hope all goes well. Your stuff has such a well-finished and smooth look to it, it's hard to conceive this model not doing incredibly well. Your color usage provides great depth to your character. I was wondering: what do you mean by "Color theory" AND WHERE CAN I LEARN IT?!
