In keeping with play levels at adeptacon and others our group recently bumped the points limit to 2,250

For my DIY this means i actually get to put all my painted models back in my army(more scouts and assault marines) and upgrade my GKGM a bit.

My first testrun was a bit of a batism of fire since chase(GT winner 2 years running for the seattle GT) showed up and ran his "nightlords" (originally an actual nightlords army built for 3rd ed but made a slaneesh marked chaos army for 5th..with no lash ;) with some upgrades-

We rolled up 5 objectives and dawn of war.

i lost the roll and went first.

With DPA it put my dreads a bit out of position, he got 2 dreadclaws in on turn 2(we allow FW units in our games) and punched my right flank. my scouts held out for a little, gfoing so far as having a lone sargeant tie a full noise marine squad up for 2 turns in CC.

I managed to shoot his greater demon to death and almost kill a demon prince. they still managed to walk through all 3 ironclads with some bad rolling on my part. both of his princes ran into my venerable dreads and were stopped cold for the rest of the game.

Early on i was able to blow up a vindicator and i DS the assault squad in to try and get at the other one. however his bikes came in......and i actually had that 5 man squad hold 10 chaos bikers for 3 full turns thanks to soem bad rolling on his part.

His 3rd troop unit dreadclaw mishapped off the table but he still managed to drop my speeder with his bikers in CC.

Since the speeder had no WS it left his bikes in the open for assault. my GKGM hit them and mangaed to force them to flee. his other bike squad by this time had taken out the assault marines and charged the GKGM's unit.

he managed to drop the last of the tac marines and wound the GKGM, but he still got beaten back. my last venerable dread jumped in to aid the GKGM forcing the bikers back.

The game ended on turn 5 with him holding the far right objective and me with no scoring units left or the ability to get over to it to contest.

It was a great game and the GKGM payed for himself in spades again. The initiative drop for chaos from having sacred incense on the GM once again proved to bee one of my great equalisers.
