Sponsons on Predators

Brothers,

I have a bit of a rules question that I can't find an answer to here or anywhere else. Do sponsons heavy bolter or otherwise bought as an upgrade for a Predator (or any other tank for that matter) count as 1 weapon or two separate weapons. My confusion comes with this: they are purchased as a pair for a one price. If you read the Land Raider description it specifically says "two twin-linked lascannons and a twin-linked heavy bolter", which clearly means you need two weapons destroyed results to get rid of the lascannons (and three to drop the Heavy bolter as well leaving the raider weaponless).

Can one of you fine gentlemen point me to where it says one way or the other?

Thanks,

Huzzah

well i am not sure where it is in the rule book but they are 2 separate weapons. so if you have 2 twinlinked lascannon sponsons then they are two different weapons, and there for a landraider would need three weapon destroyed results to make it have no weapons. like i said i am not sure where this comes from, but it is the way we have all ways played it around here.

It states as a multiple of 1 so i guess the answer should be obvious.

On a side note the last part makes me think that you think that it requires both of them to be destroyed before the turret weapon is destroyed however youre opponent gets to choose wich weapon will be destroyed on a weapon destroyed result.

I was actually wondering about this earlier myself concerning the Power of the Machine Spirit.

PoMS lets you fire one more weapon than you normally would be able to. So if you moved you could still fire two weapons. So I was wondering are sponsons two weapons or could a LRR move and fire both sponsons and the AC?
