It's based on the DOW video games and the books too. (For the record, I don't think Goto is that bad an author) They all still need properly basing (I'm saving that till last) and some of them need a bit of TLC in the highlighting department. Plus I'll readily admit that I'm rubbish at drawing the Blood Ravens insignia on their shoulders... First off in the showcase, My converted Gabriel Angelos. I'm also planning on making a Sternguad Squad and a Command Squad all armed with Combi-Flamers. I admit these arn't very good when compared to some of the work you see on here, but if anyone is interested in the recipe I'll be happy to tell them. Skambankt Posted February 3, 2010 Share Posted February 3, 2010 Great looking army you got there. I especially like Sgt Quintus and his Tactical Squad. A couple of things I would like you to do though, is drill out the Bolter barrels. It makes them look about 300% better. It looks like you have done it on some, but flamers and scout pistols needs drilling as well. There are also some pretty heavy mold-lines on your power-fists, and I would try to file them down on later models if I where you. Also, have you considered highlighting your golden bits? It looks decent as it is, but a small highlight of Shining Sold and Mithrill Silver would make it look awesome. Other than that, it looks great, keep up the good work. Yeah I will base them, but I have plans with my firend to make a modular gaming table which is going to be dessert (Mos Eisely, Tatooine) themed. With that in mind I'm saving basing till after my table is finished so I can make them match the table as much as possible ;) A couple of things I would like you to do though, is drill out the Bolter barrels. Yeah I know, I will be sure to do that :) I just get so trigger happy after I've finished painting a model that I have to move onto another one without applying all the finishing touches. I had a similar talk with my friend, we agreed that since White Scars etc etc are much more deviant from the codex than the Blood Ravens are, and yet they don't have their own codex then the Blood Ravens don't need one of their own. Lets face it, the blood ravens ARE codex except for their massive use of librarians. What would be nice however is to see some special Blood Ravens rules appear in WD or something, like a blood raven librarian squad, or special librarian rules. Maybe a special character for Gabriel Angelos... Would also be nice to see GW admit that the Blood Ravens are decended from Pre Heresy Thousand Sons (Just my little opinon based on what I've read in the books :) ) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
