ChainsawDR
Quick question for y'all... If I had a GH unit with a drop pod bought for them and everything started the game in reserve, could I drop the pod down with my Lone Wolf inside and walk the GH's onto the board? If so, would I have to announce he's pinched it in advance and roll for him & the drop pod, or would I have to do something else? Or in another scenario, if I buy a drop pod for the GH's and deploy them from the start, but keep the Lone Wolf and drop pod in reserve - would that work? Thanks in advance ChainsawDR Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191450-can-a-lone-wolf-pinch-a-drop-pod/ Share on other sites
Ullr Direfang
page 67 of the rule book: the only limitation of a dedicated transport is that when it is deployed it can only carry the unit it was selected for (plus any independent characters). DV8
you could get a TDA for the Lone Wolf and Deep strike him. 1st Round you drop the droppod (with locator), 2nd round you roll for reserves and deep strike your lone wolf within 6 inches of the drop pod so it wouldn't scatter. Space Wolves can't Deep Strike with Terminator Armor. That option is not listed under Terminator Armor under the Wargear section (of our Codex). Durfast Spiritwolf
you could get a TDA for the Lone Wolf and Deep strike him. 1st Round you drop the droppod (with locator), 2nd round you roll for reserves and deep strike your lone wolf within 6 inches of the drop pod so it wouldn't scatter. Well, accept for the fact that Space Wolves can't teleport and the drop pods don't the have locator beacon option... edited - sorry posts crossed there. Great minds and all that ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191450-can-a-lone-wolf-pinch-a-drop-pod/#findComment-2271394 Share on other sites

commander alexander
To actually have a solution to your problem, since a rhino can be deployed on the table, first turn you could have him hop in. Hope that helps <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191450-can-a-lone-wolf-pinch-a-drop-pod/#findComment-2271641 Share on other sites
Spacefrisian
If only he had a Jumppack option than he could deepstrike. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191450-can-a-lone-wolf-pinch-a-drop-pod/#findComment-2271710 Share on other sites
TiguriusX
Most common way to give a LW a transport is to have him start near your LF and hop in their ride (usually a razorback). Just remember the LW can only have power armor if you do this Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191450-can-a-lone-wolf-pinch-a-drop-pod/#findComment-2271761 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Eh, I usually just footslog him, its simple enough, and its fairly effective. Oldenhaller
Seconded. With the way deployment works and the option of running he should generally be in combat on turn 2 unless your opponent is really reting to avoid you ~O Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191450-can-a-lone-wolf-pinch-a-drop-pod/#findComment-2271823 Share on other sites

Niiai
I know this is of topic but it seems to me that an Iron priest with three wolves and 3 servitors would be very good in some long fangs rhino. :) The servitors are 10 point power fist attacks, and the wolves can be I5. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191450-can-a-lone-wolf-pinch-a-drop-pod/#findComment-2271883 Share on other sites
ChainsawDR
Thanks for all the replies. I think the TDA TH&SS option is probably the best one for the LW so have sadly accepted that its a footsloggin unit ;) @Niiai: I did a similar thing in my list and now have a Iron Priest with either 2 Servitors or 2 Cyber Wolves - they either borrow the razorback to get into combat, or if my GH's need it more he'll hang back to protect and repair vehicles (especially the big gun on my Vindicator). I did used to have a LW but feel the Iron priest gives a little more versatility than non-TDA Lone Wolves. Just my opinion though.
