Master of fact
I was up all night GSing and using some old projects and came up with the following, i can provide pics of indivdual parts if you like. http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z52/masteroffact/IMGP1743.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z52/masteroffact/IMGP1744.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z52/masteroffact/IMGP1745.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z52/masteroffact/IMGP1747.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z52/masteroffact/IMGP1748.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z52/masteroffact/IMGP1749.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z52/masteroffact/IMGP1750.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z52/masteroffact/IMGP1751.jpg I like the outcome so far, only i could not find any darkangel "angel's" from the ravenwing sprue :P Tell me what you like, dont like. Skoby
Wow that's amazing, only real criticism is that the cloak doesn't quite look right where it drapes over the angle of his armour, but then again its 100x better than I could do. I am seriously in awe at the detail you've done, I haven't got a clue how you would do the scroll work like that, I would say I want a tutorial on how it's done, but I know that even with a great tutorial I wouldn't be able to do it. Look forward to seeing it painted Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191476-belial-of-the-darkangels-scratch-build/#findComment-2271918 Share on other sites
Adolpheal
Very nice the only change I'd make is swap the figurehead for a DA version. Isiah
*Pick myself off the floor* Master of fact that is awesome work. You've made it look like a 'proper' purpose-designed sculpt – something that is very hard to pull off. Absolutely beauutiful GS work. The detailing and characterisation is pretty much spot on. AL.
Outstanding. Thats a fantastic depiction of a fantastic character Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191476-belial-of-the-darkangels-scratch-build/#findComment-2272014 Share on other sites
Terrible_Trygon
That's pretty decent press moulding work. Two points though; the tabard looks flat, which is unavoidable really, and the shoulder pads look inconsistent in size, though that might just be the angle. commander alexander
I dont quite like the kitchen apron look he has, but he is very well done. Are the raised emroderies on the tabard done with a wax mold? twistinthunder
i like it, it kinda reminds me of scibors stuff (they make custom single miniatures) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191476-belial-of-the-darkangels-scratch-build/#findComment-2272604 Share on other sites

Master of fact
It is like scibor's stuff, i like the press mold stuff as it is alot eaiser for me than sculpting from an armature, however with press molding, some things look flat. I started with termi legs, body, arm's. Then i have pre-cut mold's that i measured (guessed the size ^_^ of the limb or armour plate. Im not making anymore of these as their my personal collection. Don't see why sell with the time put into it. I might make a tutorial though...... I am a sculptor, and I know how press moulding works. So I will probably never be impressed by this kind of work again. Still looks cool though. Master Toddius
Wow, really? Boo hoo press moulding is cheating... Whatev's, all that counts is the end product and this one looks awesome. I'm not going to buy a modern car because boohoo a robot faceted it together and thats cheating... AdeptusDavidus
It's an impressive piece, to be sure. I'm not necessarily quite as impressed with a press-mold approach as with a free-sculpted one, simply because while both methods are beyond my skills (or lack thereof), sculpting from armature is further still from my abilities. :) That in no way changes my opinion of this piece! It's very beautiful, and very impressive, and you should be quite proud of your work. Master Toddius
Its been done before? LOL ;) 99.9% of the models posted on this site have been done before... :P I think you guys are being strangely critical. Brother Mordeus
Sigh, you know what i mean the whole press technique. Im just bored of that look, it looks weird, flat, lacks flow, and every mini done this way looks the same. Sorry if this sounds harsh, its just my opinion Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191476-belial-of-the-darkangels-scratch-build/#findComment-2273011 Share on other sites
Master of fact
Nah it's cool. Everyone has their opinion, if you like it great if you don't ok, but i know where you are coming from. I am working on proper sculpting, but have not found a putty i like just yet. Thank's for all the comments ( + and -) cheer's MoF Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191476-belial-of-the-darkangels-scratch-build/#findComment-2273228 Share on other sites
Capt. Lysander
I like it! The best parts are the shoulderpads. In agreement with past posts, the cape is the only problem, as it sort of lacks in fluidity. Other then that, beautiful piece!
