Wicced
wicked conversions mate  though the running one with axe and scimitar looks a little strange to me. took me a while to realize why, but i think his thighs are too long in comparison with his shins. just my 2 cents Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191478-winter-is-coming/page/3/#findComment-2523374 Share on other sites
Muller
To be honest your running marines look a tad overdone in their poses, which makes it look like they're ice skating. I vote for toning it down a notch or two as well as adding small loose clothing, purity seals, etc. that will enhance the feeling of an actual motion. Lord_Azoth
thanks all for comments and critics... @Wicced: Yes, maybe the legs are a bit strange, I elongated them a bit, but really dont study them enough to make them look real enough.. @Müller: Yes the poses in the running ones are really extreme, I wanted to emphasize that BC are brave and almost frenzied every time... The problem is that if I made the pose more reallistic the amount of time would be too much (I´m really slow in my conversions and even more painting)..and I would like to have my army list completed in 1 year more or less... Thanks for your comments, I´ll try to improve the next batch @Bloodmange: thanks mate, Mr. Willis is pleased with you :D 2nd batch of 3 finished...next the 2 magnetic wolves http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/6720/dscn3057t.jpg http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/9950/dscn3061w.jpg http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/2520/dscn3060r.jpg http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/2649/dscn3059b.jpg http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/3420/dscn3051e.jpg http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/3381/dscn3056t.jpg http://img808.imageshack.us/img808/3115/dscn3054.jpg http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/6480/dscn3052o.jpg http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/6213/dscn3062.jpg http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/2816/dscn3066l.jpg http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/252/dscn3065.jpg http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/9199/dscn3064j.jpg http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/5273/dscn3067s.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191478-winter-is-coming/page/3/#findComment-2528693 Share on other sites

kapturowski
I really like what you're doing here. The models are looking really nice cleaned up. Very dynamic and impressive looking. I find it hard sculpting soft armour on my Wolves but you don't seem to have any problem with it, would you mind sharing your technique? Lord_Azoth
I would love to know how you do the joints. Great models. they are made from only GS to achieve a more plastic look. I´ll try to make some photos of the tools I use and a quick SBS. MAinly I apply the GS to the joint and with clay shapers http://www.garieinternational.com.sg/clay/shop/products/accessories/tools/clay_shapers2.jpg adjust the GS to the joint, under every plate. When it has more or less the desired shape I use a homemade tool (only a pin glued to an old brush handle) to press the GS and mark each crave. Playing with it I made each line adjusting it to the joint shape. At the end if I can, I apply a clay shaper with a sharp edge (last one in the right of the photo) to mark again each line and make them look uniform... it´s easier than it sounds. Hope the photos will be more explanatories than my words... Lord_Azoth
these are the tools I mainly use : http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/4387/dscn3069.jpg The homemade tool is the lowest one, is a sewing needle I glued/GStuffed to and old brush. For the next SW batch I´ll make a little tuto about making GS joints Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191478-winter-is-coming/page/3/#findComment-2529442 Share on other sites

Doghouse
Really nice work on these guys. They look some much more alive than the regular stock models and are some of the best marines I've seen in ages to be honest. Lord_Azoth
Last of the first 8 BC batch, this one also magnetized to swap flame-thrower plasma, whatever I want I made a "custom" FlameT, I´m not totally satisfied with it, but I think it´s cool http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/3089/dscn3102.jpg http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/9171/dscn3103i.jpg 360 view of the dude http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/8666/dscn3096u.jpg http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/2972/dscn3097n.jpg http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/1582/dscn3098.jpg http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/754/dscn3099s.jpg the magnet... http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/1685/dscn3101k.jpg After filling and detailing these last 2 ones...I´LL START THE PAINTING...I´m really scared about it... Lord_Azoth
I´m back... The 8 BC unit is finished, with a swapping Flamethrower and power weapon Besides I´ve magnetized all backpacks, I made this to use them as sky claws only changing backpacks for ?reactors? (dont know the correct word) I´ve also set up 3 GH with wulfen mark, they are a shabby conversion so I make it only for a tournament in January. The "real" wulfen will come when I start the GH unit., but I´ll use them as beta testers for my "How to paint gray SW". I´ll test on them my technics..airbrush, washes etc. Magnetized backs and backpacks: http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/4198/dscn3120p.jpg Flamethrower BC...Do you see ok the fire on the torch? would you make any change on it? http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/9875/dscn3123j.jpg http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/1294/dscn3125i.jpg http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/6885/dscn3129s.jpg http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/4889/dscn3128j.jpg Power weapon mate... http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/2994/dscn3132.jpg http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/7628/dscn3135.jpg The whole unit... Sir Tancrede
It's a shame i didn't post here before, as this is one of my favorite thread ! I really like the converting/repositionning work you've done, as it really capture the barbaric feeling of the Wolves ! Now, I hope to see the painting job begin soon ! Mikal the bloody handed
Nice conversion work and fantastic concept. my only problem is that where you have extended the thighs and not the shins, they begin to look a little out of scale anatomically speaking, but aside from that, brilliant job :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191478-winter-is-coming/page/3/#findComment-2567690 Share on other sites
