Rhellion
What is the best way to equip 4 Wolf Guard Terminators who will be drop podding with a Rune Priest in Terminator armor? Mixture of ranged and cc nastiness, or go for the full close combat equip? This is how I have them now: -terminator, assault cannon, power fist -terminator, twin wolf claws -terminator, wolf claw, storm bolter -terminator, thunder hammer, storm shield Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191489-how-to-equip-wolf-guard-terminators/ Share on other sites
kittenofdeath
is there a fifth wolf guard in your list somewhere? because you need 5 to take a big gun like the assault cannon Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191489-how-to-equip-wolf-guard-terminators/#findComment-2272043 Share on other sites
CainTheHunter
I assume, You have the fifth WG in PA somewhere, or else the AC is illegal. Looks nice IMO. One of the main rules is to keep TH-SS termies to minimum, cause they are damn expensive. I like the WC-SS option, but more for esthetic reasons. Update kittenof death beat me in this  At least one chainfist would be advisable. stinkenheim
id swap the storm bolter for a combi-melta and not worry about a chainfist. chainfists only come into their own against really high armour, most vehicles have rear armour of 10-11 and so they wont offer much more over a powerfist. the thunderhammer however is nice in that it will stun the vehicle if it isnt destroyed. the melta should enable you to threaten anything your opponent has taken (along with the other weapons in the unit). maybe look at a CML instead of the assault cannon, 2 less shots but higher str and ap plus you can take something in the other hand, stormbolter for instance so you can fire both weapons, or storm shield for an extra bit of survivability. SamaNagol
I always without fail include a Chainfist in every unit. They are better than Thunder Hammers by a long shot unless you are playing against Nids or Daemons. Storm Bolter and Wolf Claw is an EXCELLENT load out for only 38 pts. I try to bulk out my squads with them. Re-rolls to hit with power weapons is invaluable, especially against other well armoured opponents. Chodjinn
Good all round unit, but like someone said I'd go for a CML and keep the storm bolter. Assault cannons aren't what they used to be  I've just modelled a couple of combiplasma and combimelta models for a bit of extra cheap punch over a storm bolter.
