Megamarine
So the drop pod has a storm bolter, and a BS of 4, does that mean after it's landed it sits there shooting at things with its storm bolter? Forgive me if that's a dumb question, it's just different than i always envisioned drop pods. Demoulius
well IIRC the pod lands in the movement phase yes? its S4, so can fire even after "moving" IIRC, unless it counts as moving more then 12" ? mega_marines
No way..you have the same name as me...well, almost. Anyways, Demoulius is correct. If it lands, it can fire. Ntin
When a vehicle deep strikes it counts as moving at “cruising speed”. A Drop Pod is a normal vehicle and therefore cannot fire its Stormbolter the turn it deep strikes. As a normal vehicle cannot fire its weapons, even defensive weapons at “cruising speed”. LPetersson
As the others have said, you can't shoot the turn you come in, but each turn after is good for shooting. I have often found it useful for 'sniping' squads that only have one or two models left in the hope of taking them fully down. Also, don't forget about the missile launcher upgrade. if you're fighting a horde army, then it's not a bad upgrade. And Even MEQ armies won't like an S5 template covering a whole squad...
