NightLords

I knew there were khorne in RT era...

I know that you knew - you wrote it in the first post of the thread ;). My rather hasty post was meant to explaining Trygon why your Night Lords are Khornete. I posted the picture because as they say -picture is worth a thousand words

To clear things up; I know why he is making his Nightlords Khornate and I know that they were indeed Khornate at the time of RT. However, the OP implied that Night Lords currently worship Chaos Undivided, and I said that they actually currently do not worship Chaos at all.

As for the mask, I personally think the wings are a bit much for the mask. If it is for a banner is defiantly too big, if it is for a Demon Prince, it would be too big for the metal model, and if it is for a Defiler, well, you might just get away with it for a Defiler. It is a pretty huge model.

Hey man he looks great!

I was going to comment on a couple of things but before i do i just noticed the verdigris on the gold shoulder pads. Very Nice!

Overall i think if you add some depth to the reds, and metallics you'll be golden. The Red wings could use a wash in the recesses to held add depth, or give a couple of dots of red or orange on the raised points. The silver/metal could either use a BB wash or maybe a delvan. If you did already wash them give the metallics a spot of chainmail or something lighter than your base to help them out.

Brother Nihms lightning Tut is awesome, remember to keep each color smaller and inside the one preceding it. I can see the enchanted beneath the ice if i look closely but you want it to kind of 'glow' outwards on the sides.

Overall I like him and he's a great start. If you keep these up the squad will look fantastic finished.

Very nice progress on these guys, a whole squad will look amazing, gotta agree with Dan's suggestions, a little shading on the reds and some highlights on the metals will make these boys ping ;)

The reds look a lot better but, you still have short way to go before you nail them 100%

I struggle with reds myself so I know how annoying it can be. :D

The lightning looks great, but remember to paint them top-down like they often appear in nature, if you're going for the traditional scheme that is.

He is looking awesome. I really like the Red helmet on the spike and the green verdigris on the gold trim. The lightning looks cleaner so i can tell you've been working at it, but like Nihm said you're a short way to go before he's top notch. Your reds are looking better and i can tell your metals are getting washed/shaded. Really giving C+C at this point would be nitpicking and i don't really want to start doing that.

On the topic of the lightning, since i just worked on some of my own, here's a few things to keep in mind.

Your white is drowning out the blue glow. Instead of making your white line solid and unbreakable, transition from translucent white, to strong white when you're painting the color on. If you haven't experimented with thinning your paints now would be a good chance to try it out. furthermore get some arcs and forks in there. The lightning looks like that in one of those enclosed glass spheres. It is in a calm flowing state where it reaches vertically up his armor. Sometimes less white is more.

Then next is for anyone that has read "Soul Hunter" it is my version of Telos. Went to GW today and picked up the new Sanguiney Guard and the swords are great and tbh it is a really good kit, So not sure what im going to do with the actual marines from the kit but i got a sword i wanted lol :tu:

So this is my Telos still lots to do but what you think ?

I like the heavy bolter marine. I'm glad to paint some of the hands in red to help out the khorne feel that they have. I can't help but think that the heavy bolter would be better black instead of blue. I think it would make the blue pop just a little bit more.

If you have delvan mud a good thing to do with it would be to place some in the red wings. Just couple of paintbrush dabs inbetween the ridges would give some depth to the reds. Furthermore if you have badaab black or asurmen blue dab some recessed or shadowy areas with it to make the armor a little darker in some areas.
