Darkseer
I've just completed a couple of space wolves conversions and wanted to share. Dude with the huge axe is my first Rune Priest, dude with the double handed crozius is my Wolf Priest. I'm really happy with them, but if you want to slag them off and say they could be better, I don't mind. :P http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn121/AMBSphotobucket/space%20wolves/runepriesrwolfpriest.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191857-rune-priest-and-wolf-priest-conversions/ Share on other sites
Beef
ok you asked for it, my only gripe is that even though these are great conversion, ( I like the use of chaos warriors torso, always look good on SW) the crozonious top bit where it joins the axe bit looks to thin, it you made that thicker it would look better IMO. Night Runner
I think they are excellent, but I also agree with beef on the thin part of the crozius. It makes it look fragile IMO, something that it is certainly not. Otherwise I think they look great. The chaos warrior cloak is a good idea to distinguish their rank. By the way, I'm a great fan of the Space Wolves blog you run. I check it out every time I'm on the net, which is practically every day! Keep up the good work with it. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191857-rune-priest-and-wolf-priest-conversions/#findComment-2276927 Share on other sites
Wolf Lord Ronin
Wow, Im a huge fan of these, though I keep thinking that the Wolf Priest is actually a Rune Priest, since in the Codex the Rune Priest depicted under the codex entry is also wielding a staff similar in design to the crozius you've made. I am however a fan of the Chaos Warrior torsos being used, but from what I can tell, alot of cutting/greenstuffing is required to fit the SM arms properly? I would love to see the eventual paintjob, as well as a conversion tutorial :cuss Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191857-rune-priest-and-wolf-priest-conversions/#findComment-2277071 Share on other sites
spikyjames
Great stuff mate, they work very well. Not gone for quite so much fur on my own. Looking forward to seeing some paint on them. james Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191857-rune-priest-and-wolf-priest-conversions/#findComment-2277082 Share on other sites
Mr Fulgrim
Great stuff! I'm a big fan of your Space Wolves blog, great tactics and conversions. When will we see a wulfen conversion? Hfran Morkai
Loving your work! How hard was it to get the crozius head to fit securely? Because I seemed to have trouble with that when attempting it myself, seemed too flimsy and wonky due to dreadful cutting. Wolf Guard Dan
Big fan of your blog. Now for the critique. Wolf Priest- looks good. I am with the other guys thinking that the crozius could be a little thicker connecting the two pieces of your conversion. Rune priest- I like the model but it doesn't scream RUne Priest to me. The only thing that really does is the Runic Weapon. I really like the conversions of your blog. You have a great way of mixing kits to make even cooler models. But, I am a big fan of Sculpting with green stuff. Any chance you can show us some techniques of converting with green stuff on the blog? It may be hard because a lot of the detail we used to have to sculpt is now included in the basic models. I would also be really interested in seeing an alternative to using Njal's raven as our only choice for a CoS. Any other ideas or conversions you can think of? The Fenrisian
Nice conversions mate. I just made one of my own, which i spent a while doing as I was inspired by DV8s Ulrik conversion, but I'll put up a picture as soon as I can work out how to get a picture onto my pc from my phone easily.
