donates
ok, so i was reading about fenris and realised that through the short break of winter fenris actually becomes full of fire and lava and massive holes are ripped in the ground, now this got me thinking, why doesnt this side of fenris be uncovered ( has it ever? ) so for my space wolves im thinking of painting them in a dark red kind of way showing part of the wolves that prefer the scorching summer of fenris and was also thinking of having black wolves. but another thing is why do i never see the upper class of space wolves it is all RAGEEEEEEE, so im sure that there is some tribes that are more classy and use art and symbols to represent themselves not just all blood and war scars, so do some space wolves have those big nice armour suits engraved with scriptures and such? Quillen
It's a cycle. There is indeed times when it's hot and the sun shines and the plants bloom. And then there is the winter. There is also Islands that do not sink. And do not have firey volcanoes. So making you guys look different is fine, and an excellent idea. As to the war thing. It's thier culture. They left the good land mass and went to the seas under Russ' orders. Something about mutaition in the caves and underground places they lived in on the main contenant. So now they live in the harcher part of the world and wage war for the reasources. It's all in the Space Wolf novels. Saying they are not sofiticated is wrong. They have culture and poems and art work. They also have to grip an axe handle when born. Which all babies do naturelly. Try it with a family memeber or a close friends new baby. You put you fingure against it's hand and it grips. Beef
but another thing is why do i never see the upper class of space wolves it is all RAGEEEEEEE, so im sure that there is some tribes that are more classy and use art and symbols to represent themselves not just all blood and war scars, so do some space wolves have those big nice armour suits engraved with scriptures and such? Simple answer, if they spend time doing arts and crafts another rival tribe will take over their land mass, Only the strong survive on Fenris. So they have no time for pursuits such as arts. Just like everything in Fenris (for eg worship) its all a battle ready version. Prayers are quick, poems would be about a warriors strength not the beauty of nature (maybe the ferocity of nature) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191955-classy-fire-side-of-space-wolves/#findComment-2278063 Share on other sites

jeremy1391
I think that there are two wolf lords who are big fans of the sun wolf and the fire wolf ... Lots of flame and such, they also use more red on their armor and weapons as well Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191955-classy-fire-side-of-space-wolves/#findComment-2278583 Share on other sites
Beef
Sorry Donates my bad, I read your post in a rush and was blindsided by the arty side Yes you would see wolf lords and senior SW with engraved suits of armour, Usually depicting their saga or their wolf sign. It would be intricate but it would mainly be things like wolves Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191955-classy-fire-side-of-space-wolves/#findComment-2278611 Share on other sites
Night Runner
Just a thought but why don't you do a half scheme. Grey and red, like the Angels Sanguine which are red and black. I have never seen it done before and it could be a way of showing the dual nature of Fenris - that is fire and ice. jjfelber
Does it matter? I mean I painted my Wolves Dark Silver and Red. I can make up any fluff I want, if required too. Heck, I use Blood Angel Death Company for Pistol/Chainsword models. As far as tourneys go, as long as you have the models it doesn't really matter how you paint them. This is one reason I like Space Marines. I essentially have 6 Armies for the price of one. Space wolves, Blood Angels, Black Templar, Dark Angels, Nilla' Marines and even Chaos Marines. They are what I say they are.... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191955-classy-fire-side-of-space-wolves/#findComment-2279219 Share on other sites
Night Runner
To some people it does! It's part of the hobby to choose a background story for an army, build and paint an army to the fluff whether your own or GW's and play the army according to the fluff. Some even take pride and satisfaction in doing this. Naturally it is a matter of opinion and I wont argue it more than this since I don't want to hijack the thread. Let everyone choose which path to take and all should be fine. Demonslayer
^Space Wolves rule, is what I'm gonna say and think :P^ I'll say paint them how you want with your own fluff, as long as the other player knows who they are can't see why it matters. How about painting them abit like the Legion of the Dammed, but red instead of black with the flames, or how about black fading into a dark red abit like a volcano erupting ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/191955-classy-fire-side-of-space-wolves/#findComment-2279582 Share on other sites
