Tybrus Posted February 9, 2010 Share Posted February 9, 2010 So below is my take on Harald Deathwolf. I have been working on him since the new Dex came out and really love teh way he came out. I don't know if you can see it well enough in the pictures but he has Human, Ork, and Nid skulls on chains hanging from his belt as well. The sad part is that I have heatlh problems and have been in and out of work for a while and though the parts for Harald were a Christmas Gift I will be putting this up on Ebay in the coming days to cover bills and feed the kids. I don't have the heart to paint him before he goes as I would put far more effort into the paint job then my time is worth. As it stands just the sculpt on the shield took hours for the wolves head, and the head itself took most of a day to get right. Night Runner Posted February 9, 2010 Share Posted February 9, 2010 I like what you've done with him, especially the spear. The only thing that detrtacts from the model,IMO, is the thickness of the wolf-head emblem on the shield. I think it is too thick and looks awkward. But besides that Congrats :). StormDragon Posted February 9, 2010 Share Posted February 9, 2010 I like him. :D The spear looks really good, although I agree with Night Runner about the wolfs head on the shield being a bit thick but the sculpting looks really nice. I hope he'll fetch a good chunk of money for you to lessen the pain of parting with him slightly. P.S. Where did you get the wolf he's riding from? Tybrus Posted February 9, 2010 Author Share Posted February 9, 2010 The Wolf he is riding was a gift from a friend for christmas, so not sure where he got it. I think it was from a lady in Russia he said, but not 100%. The part where the head meets the shoulders on the wolf has a harness there so that makes it look odd. I will try and Greenstuff some fur over it a bit in some places as there is no way it should be bare. The symbol looked a bit thick to me too, but I wanted it to stand out. I will see if I can carve or file it down a bit if I can get it back off the shield without damage. Thanks for the support and comments, I am really happy with how he came out. Love the Skull Motif, and I hope when/if I get a chance to make a 2.0 I can expand on the idea. Any other thoughts on changes that could make this better?
