wolfguard termie: pwr. fist vs. wolf claw

I like a mixture myself. I do think that only 5 points more for a Claw over a plain old power sword is a good deal so I have quite a few of single claws TDAs. Usually though I go with 3/2 claws to fists in 5 man squads. It's nice to get some good attacks in early with the claws and then finish things off with fists.
What do you think is better, a single wolf claw for 5 points or a pwr. fist for 10 pts. ?

Not enough info. What is the Wolf Guard doing? If he is assigned as a Pack Leader, then always the Power Fist (or Chain Fist, or Thunder Hammer), no question. If staying in the Wolf Guard Pack, then you still need one or two with the high strength option, while the rest should stick with the high initiative options, like Wolf Claws.

Looks like I am going old school and making a 5-6 man pack of WG with a battle leader to boot.

I figure two assault cannons, the rest combi-plasmas and a mix of power fists and wolf claws....

Badically drop pod in and kill whatever big nasty creature they land in front of...if it does not die from fire, then wade in and kill it in close combat.

Off the top of my head (no codex to hand) if your TDA is going in a drop pod it can only be five men and you can only take a sinlge heavy weapon for every five men in the squad, therefore only one assualt cannon.

EI,

You are not incorrect, but the OP didn't say specifically whether or not all of the Wolf Guard will be in TDA, so max of 5 models in a Drop Pod if they are all in TDA, but he could have 6 Wolf Guard in the Drop Pod if he kept two (or more) in Power Armour. Also, Wolf Guard can be reallocated out of the Pack to go act as leaders for other Packs, so he could still have 2 Assault Cannon with the remaining Wolf Guard in the Drop Pod, as long as the original Wolf Guard Pack size was 10 models, before some were split off to go lead other packs.

yeah guys, if you have the full 10 man pack of WG, you CAN have 2 asslt. cannons in one TDA squad...even if some of those WG are off leading other packs.

As for the drop pod transport capacity, looks like the squad will only be five strong then, 2 asslt. cannons, 2 combi-plasma and the WGBL with combi-plasma;

SOOOOO, maybe an even mix of 2 power fists, 2 Wolf Claws, and then the WGBL's power weapon too;

still a lot of rapid fire plasma and asslt. cannon's rending shots too.

Thanks for all of the feedback.

First off, listing individual point costs is a big no-no. Please remove them.

In answer to your question, I'd go with some of each in a squad of multiple termies. If you're talking about a single WG termie leading a squad of grey hunters or something, I'd always go with the fist.
