Inquisitor Victan
That does look incredibly awesome. Was that done freehand? Oh lord, no. I have a template and sprayed it. Did a lot of freehand cleanup on the lines, though. A lot. ;) Whew.. ok, it did look ridiculously straight, that's an awesome idea. Definitely looks like it was worth the effort. Metal Apostle
Hot damn! i was just about to start my SoB thread in Hall of Honour when i saw these! As many have already pointed out, that aquila across rhinos is a real inspiration. Also loving the way the sisters flesh tone and hair are turning out; gotta try that out on my girls :) Will be following this one... Grandmaster Flux
Pretty simple, really. Googled a large pic of an aquila, printed it out, glued it to a piece of heavy cardstock, and went around it with a hobby knife. Bang, done. ShinyRhino
Pretty simple, really. Googled a large pic of an aquila, printed it out, glued it to a piece of heavy cardstock, and went around it with a hobby knife. Bang, done. If you want something that requires less cleanup afterward, try tracing the design onto a stencil made of several pieces of painter's tape. The tape lies flush to the model, and won't ruin the paintjob underneath. Not as reusable as plastic or cardstock stencils, but far easier to paint. Grandmaster Flux
That's incredibly brilliant. I would be worried, though, that with something like the aquila and all it's feathery bits, that you'd have a harder time keeping the lines parallel as they're supposed to be. Natanael
Great stuff this, both sisters and rhinos. The aquila-idea is awesome. Grandmaster Flux
Haven't even touched my other tanks, but I finished a jump pack cannonness. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_vpEJLUw6lKc/S9X2aVNiS_I/AAAAAAAABnQ/I0US4BGUf-w/s800/P4250171.JPG http://lh3.ggpht.com/_vpEJLUw6lKc/S9X2b3WuAJI/AAAAAAAABnU/fgKiv09yHtA/s720/P4250173.JPG http://lh3.ggpht.com/_vpEJLUw6lKc/S9X2d_niLBI/AAAAAAAABnY/kHNDbnT1-pk/s512/P4250174.JPG With bionics http://lh3.ggpht.com/_vpEJLUw6lKc/S9X2fchoOTI/AAAAAAAABnc/2XPA6EGF84c/s512/P4250176.JPG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/192258-sisters-of-battle/page/2/#findComment-2378078 Share on other sites
Newtype
Your SOB army looks fantastic! The graphic look of the Imperial Aquila on the white rhinos is just beautiful. Like the others, I am going to have to borrow the technique for myself. Maybe put it on Landraiders. The bionic arm of the Cannoness adds serious character to her. Makes you wonder if she lost it while trying to get the mace? Or while using the mace? Just stunning. Please post more pictures. Grandmaster Flux
The bionic arm of the Cannoness adds serious character to her. Makes you wonder if she lost it while trying to get the mace? Or while using the mace? I felt compelled to put it on there after a game in which she went two rounds of one-on-one with Mephiston, and a lucky Bionics roll saved her from death, allowing her to put him down with the white-hot inferno pistol. WarriorFish
Is that a big I on the two Immos too? They look amazing, especially all together as an army! I'm going to look into painting some aquilas on my Marine's Rhinos too (I'm repainting them currently) as that is too cool to pass up on. Grandmaster Flux
Is that a big I on the two Immos too? Yeah. I wanted to carry on with the theme, but there's not a whole lot of room to do stuff on the immolators, what with all the extra bling. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_vpEJLUw6lKc/TAVnxpknY4I/AAAAAAAACGA/-E2Ngy4fHbs/s800/P5300185.JPG I'm not as big a fan of how they turned out from side-on, but top-down the =I= comes together solid.
