Dedicated Transport Question

Okay, so, im thinking im taking 3 WG for 3 squads. I also want to take a Land Raider. So what im thinking here is that i can take the Land Raider as a Dedicated Transport for the WG, but only they as a squad would be able to start the game inside it... So what im picturing here is i set up the land Raider like sideways and pile the squad that is going to ride in it, behind it, just incase i dont get turn 1 so they dont get shot at! Now when my turn comes, i can then load them up right away, and then move the Land Raider its full speed.

Basicly a cheep way of using a dedicated Transport for another squad.

Just thought you could do the same with an Iron Priest if you wanted.. get some Long Fangs, or if you have Grey Hunters going in a LR you can get it as a dedicated from them, then set the Iron Priest behind it.. and jump in turn one and steam across the field.

While its not really an issue to take the LR as a heavy, im curious if im understanding the rules right here.. and is this super fecking cheep to do? Feels like it would be. But a LRR with 3 Vindicators.. Mmm.. thats alot of Boom.

Nowadays anyone can use any transport, it is just that with a dedicated transport the squad you bought it for is the only one that may start the game in it.

But Xeenos, you are right. You may do it that way, and it works. Not very cheesy at all, IMO.

I find it quite funny that people put the front of the Landraider towards the enemy in regards of letting another unit embark. Its armour 14 all around so you could just put the rear towards the enemy and have the unit that you want in it embark through the front hatch.
