LPC 2010 - Dark Angels

Ok, so this is my first time participating in the LPC, I've chosen to paint 2 x Tactical Squads, 1 x Assault Squad, 2 x MKII Rhino's, 1 x MKI Rhino, and 1 x Landspeeder.

 

This may seem like quite a few models, but to be honest I need the motivational kick in the rear to get me to actually finish painting something. Some of these models have been undercoated and gathering dust for over 12 months!

 

Ok, first up - 1 assembled Rhino, all the hatches have been glued shut, to save time on painting and the top hatch is seperate so I can swap it with a Razorback load out when required:

1 MKI Rhino, which I have restored with plasticard as I received it in pretty bad shape, I decided to add "Spaced Armour" and a few MKII bits of bling

1 Landspeeder with Assault Cannon (undercoated) and I've since started work on the cockpit, as you can see it's very rough and ready, will hopefully all be neatened up, need to sort that dust out (I live in an old house - dusting every day doesn't seem to help any!)

Assault Squad - only 9 guys as I got excited and painted the Sgt, but I'll include him in the final shot. I'm hoping to utilise Cities of Death bits on their bases to give them an Urban charging/soaring feel

I'm a huge fan of the original RT era Dark Angel colours, so mine will follow that scheme, all black with helmet stripes denoting rank and/or veteran status. However, unless I can get hold of a working printer I will be using stock DA decals for the chapter symbols. Additionally, I will be painting Shoulder paldrons green or black, depending on whether they originate from Terra or Caliban, some may even end up squad mates, so those pesky Terrans best watch their backs!

 

And as an extra treat as my pics were so lousy first time round I've decided to include a couple of the Predator Destructor I've been slowly building and painting over the past wee while. Most of the parts come from Tamiya 1/35th Modern Army or World War II sets, except the camo netting which is made from bandage soaked in PVA glue, with small pieces of masking tape applied to the bandage, this has then been heavily drybrushed and washed and is now awaiting a final drybrush highlight:

That last pic contains an extra special treat - my circuit bent Casio PT-10!

 

While I've got access to the camera (only this weekend) I'm hoping to record my entire 3rd Co, my heavy support and Ravenwing thus far!
