Koz
Not much to say other than this is my first Painting Challenge, and I'm excited to take part in it. Here's the lineup for the challenge: A FW Vindicator thats been primed since 2005, 8 Tactical Marines from AoBR, and a Footless Metal Dreadnought (Feet are Incoming). http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/2780/picture080.th.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/192367-kozs-lpc-tactical-marines-dreadnought-and-vindicator/ Share on other sites
Koz
Quick Update of my progress: I did a thinned down base coat of Mechrite Red on the Marines and the Sides of the Vindi. Also started on a few of the Marines hands and Bolters. http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/6950/marineswip21210.th.jpg http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/3206/wipvindi02122010.th.jpg And Brother "Shoeless" Joseph awaits his new boots from the War Store. http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/8651/wipdread02122010.th.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/192367-kozs-lpc-tactical-marines-dreadnought-and-vindicator/#findComment-2284630 Share on other sites
Koz
Ok, after I did my base coat, I applied a couple thin coats of Blood Red over the Mechrite Red. Then I used my old surplus of Red and Chestnut Ink to wash the model. Devlan Mud was used to cover the leather on the Straps and the Bolters. But four Battle Brothers down, four more to go. http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/8330/wipsquad22142010.th.jpg And Brother Joseph now has Shoes! http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/227/wipdread21410.th.jpg And I know it's hard to pic out any detail but the only camera I have right now is the one on my iPhone. :) But on the bright side my Drop Pods came today. I'm on pace to knock these out soon, I just may add the Pods to the Challenge. Vulkan454
Good work mate. But some of the red change from one marine to the others. Is it just the lighting? What chapter are you doing them in? Keep it up. Is it just the lighting? What chapter are you doing them in? Keep it up. Vulkan Thanks! I think it's just a combination of my camera phone and the lighting. They all look the same shade over here on my end. As for what chapter I'm painting them, they are Blood Angels through and through. And thanks to my dog Toby, I was up at the Butt Crack of dawn, so I worked on my Vindi. http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/2415/vindi22110.th.jpg Base Coat of Mechrite Red and Three Thinned Down Coats of Blood Red for the Hull. I even tried my hand at free handing a blood drop on the door. It's not Golden Daemon but it's a good start. It's easier to keep trying new things when you're confident about what you're doing. But I just gotta finish some touch up areas, paint the main cannon, tracks, and Dozer Blade. Oh and Bling it out with some Decals and Brass. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/192367-kozs-lpc-tactical-marines-dreadnought-and-vindicator/#findComment-2293587 Share on other sites

Koz
I've actually been a fan of the Blood Angels since the early 90s. Bought one of those old Beakie plastic boxes and painted 'em red before I even knew who or what they were about. I got started into the 40k hobby thanks to first edition Space Hulk. Ah Good Times. Here's a quick progress update on the Vindi http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/9715/vindi222410.th.jpg I just realized that the Brass on the left hand side is a little off, I'm going to try to fix it. http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/5038/vindi22410.th.jpg And the other side. http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/926/vindi322410.th.jpg All thats left is a few touch ups and the dozer blade.
