Hello!

Trying to figure out some rules, so if you could help, thanks!

1. Can scouts start the game in a dedicated transport?

2. If you combat squad a 10 man tac squad, can it count as your 2 troop choices according to the Force organisation chart?

3. Is the Apotecaries special instrument (Narthecium-sp?) a weapon? if so does it add the close combat weapon bonus?

thanks once again for all your wisdom and guidance!

1. No, the only unit that may start in a dedicated transport is the unit it was purchased for. They can however start in a Land Speeder Storm.

2. It is a single troop choice but it is 2 kill points.

3. The Narthecium is not a close combat weapon but the Apothocary comes with a bolt pistol and chainsword.

For the purpose of whether your army is legal it matters how you bought the unit. If your army on paper consosts of only one Tactical squad in your Troops section, then it is an illegal army, no matter whether you plan on eventually splitting the squad into combat squads or not. You could decide not to split them, for example. Also, you could use 4+ Tactical or Scout squads and then split them all into combat squads, resulting in 8+ individual Troops units on the tabletop, which would now make this force illegal if splitting a squad into combat squads mattered for force organisation.

To clarify, you split into combat squads during Deployment (pre-Turn 1), not before the game. And to begin the game, with a legal list, you need to have two Troop choices. <3
