Tzeentch Herald w/ chariot question

Ok, quick question about Heralds.

Because of the Daemonic Rivalry rule, Heralds and the like (Specifically: Independent Characters) cannot join units of Gods other than their own patron god. But the Chariot of Tzeentch replaces the Independant Character special rule with Furious Charge, so said Herald can join any unit he wishes, correct?

I am not following? It is no longer an independent character it cannot join a unit. If say a Herald of Nurgle wants to join a Herald of Tzeentch on a chariot he cannot do so because the Herald of Tzeentch is still a different Chaos God than the Herald of Nurgle.
Right, he (ex: Tzeentch Herald) can't join units other than those as of Tzeentchian origin as an independent character, but as an HQ without the independent character rule (which was replaced by the Furious charge rule when you opt for Chariot) can he, say, join a unit of Beasts of Nurgle or Plaguebearers? Or can he not join a unit at all since he is no longer an Independent Character?

Correct. That is the small drawback to the chariot upgrades.

A Herald of Tzeentch on foot could join a Herald of Tzeentch on a chariot because the Herald on foot is still an independent character. Once they are on a chariot they are a unit onto themselves.
