termies and fearless troops

Hear da Lamentation

Recommended Posts

Quick question on termies which has come up (with my mates.)

If a group of termies win a combat with fearless troops - do they get to do the additional wounds (i.e. they win by 3 wounds, and the loser has to take an additional 3 saves.)

I ask because obviously they cannot perform sweeping advances. I just wondered if this had the same effect on the fearless rule?

On a side note ... how does this effect the "and they shall know no fear". I assume if the losing marines (not in termie armour) fail their morale check and fall back - the termies cannot chase them and catch them ... in which case they do not suffer the additional wounds ..... ?

Sweeping advances occult when an unit tried to break up a combat after fail a moral test (with combat résolution penalities). A Fearless unit never make moral test, they are too brave or too stupid (your choice :)) so there are never sweeping advance phase when a fearless unit loose a combat (instead they take additionnal wound)

So in a combat termi vs fearless, if the fearless loose they take additional wound.

termi vs "and they shall know no fear" is different. the ATSKNF unit make an moral test if they fail there is a sweeping advance phase and if they fail the initiative test too the unit is like fearless and so take additional wound. if an ATSKNF unit fail the moral test vs a termi unit they success automaticly the initiative test of sweeping advance (du to the termi rule) and roll for the distance of retreat.
