Repoth Ickdon

Recommended Posts

Well this guy is just a poor image copy of the real deal called Kris however he hardly fits so in an attempt to make it somewhat PA related I put some PA on it, re-named him and added him to the legion of crazy that is the space marine chapter the 454 guard. (He's a powerful librarian who has a natural aptitude to control metal)

Points: 260

Name: Repoth Ickdon

Stats:

WS:5 BS:5 S:4 T:4 I:5 A:3 W:3 Ld:10 Sv:3+

Wargear:

power armour, Slicer (master crafted relic blade), bolt pistol, psychic hood

Special rules: Metal mage, And they shall know no fear, Psyker

Metal mage: Repoth has a natural talent for controlling nearly all metal. he re-rolls failed armour saves and any enemies that make successful armour saves must re-roll them. He also uses his own personal two-handed sword slicer, any wounds inflicted by this weapon cause instant death regardless of enemy toughness (as soon as a gap is created he makes slicer twist and turn inside the target, tearing them to shreds. In the case of MCs he meerly detachs slicer for a moment from the hilt and lets the blade destroy the head of the beast unless he has already cut it off!). To add to his power he also has a passive amount of liquid metal that floats round him giving him a 4+ invunerable. he also has his own set of powers, this do not required a psychic test (however can be blocked by anything that blocks psychic powers) unless stated. He can use up to 2 powers a turn (normal restrictions apply)

Sphear bomb: this device is created by deft momvements of his fingers and is meant to maim and supress units and also proving useful for hitting moving targets by spraying razor sharp needles everywhere.

Range: 12" S:3 AP:2 Assault1, large blast, cover saves can't be gained from special rules or turbo boosting, pinning.

Impaler: he creates several spikes beneath a target squad and unleashes them trying to disrupt the enemy units.

Range: 12" S:5 AP:4 Assault1, blast, pinning

Seismic Lance: He drops in from an overhead thunderhawk wielding a large lance, normally armed with a demolisher cannon round to create extra thrust upon impact.

Range: unlimited S:10 AP:1 Heavy1, Large blast+3", pinning, can re-roll scatter dice, can only be used from reserve

Note: this power is a one shot deal that is unique in that if he is using it, when he arrives from reserve do not place him on the table just yet, in the shooting phase before all other attacks are made you place the large blast wherever you want and scatter as usual. After all damage is calculated place Repoth where the centre of the blast marker was)

Obey me: he reachs out to an enemy or friendly tank and forces the vechile to do what he wishs, often improving an allies tanks abilities and crippling the enemies. This power requires a psychic test.

Range: 24" Effects: Friendly; tank can fire all weapons twice and move 6" if wanted, Enemy; can't fire at all and can be moved by Repoth's controlling player up to 12" (may not be moved by opponent until next turn). Friendly; instead of the buff, he can automatically repair one damaged function, Enemy; he my destroy one weapon of the tank or immoblise it with no save or special rule able to stop this.

Shield: raising metal around himself or allies he stops even the most grevious of shots being able to harm them.

Range: 6" Effect: unit gains a 2+ save in addition to their normal saves (this save is taken before their armour/invunerable/cover save)

Homeground: He coats the entire battlefield in metal, give his allies untold boosts to their speed over terrain and enemies are hampered and killed by constant ruptures of spikes. psychic test required for each turn this power is held

Range: unlimited Effect: all units move as if in open terrain, all enemy units move as if in difficult terrain and D3 enemy units of player choice suffer D6 Wound. Enemy tanks move as normal as the small spikes and ropes summoned aren't strong enough to hold them down. cannot use any other power the turn he uses this power (and no you can't use one before hand). he is also unable to move or fight, treat him as impassable terrain as metal will defend him if attacked.

Leash of metal: He summons several metal strands and drags the enemy towards himself.

Range: 12" Effect: enemy unit automatically moves 6" towards Repoth.

Any power with an effect is NOT a shooting attack, any power with shooting weapon stats like AP and S then it is a shooting attack

Another insane creation from yours truely!

So:

- 50% chance of shrugging off anything (4++)

- 89% chance of shrugging off attacks with his armor (re-roll +3)

- Twice as likely to penetrate infantry armor (re-roll enemy armor)

- Has two powers per turn, with no Perils of the Warp

- Has Lash of Submission and Blessing of the Omnissiah in one power

- Can give others a 2++ save

- Can give D6 wounds to up to 3 units at any time in a non-shooting attack

- Always causes instant death

Ridiculously overpowered. Not insane, just silly =P

Kinda what he does. Makes bad rules, and then claims to be insane, so it's okay.

But if it is so ridiculous why bother to type it out and post it.. Especially on B&C which can be quite a difficult place to pleaase.

Well seems I got one good bunch of people then back to the usual bunch of 'this is stupid' crew where they fail to realise these are made for fun and are insane. What you want the truely insane, because I do warn it includes a ton load of anime, some personal ideas and possibly several litres of my favourite fizzy drink (Irn-bru). Stop being so serious, come on, cut back and enjoy the the fact I make up such silly things!

What's fun about badly broken units? Do you ever actually plan or hope to use these in a game?

This is a board for the criticism and improvement of homegrown rules. The primary guidelines are to be constructive, and to accept criticism and to not take it personally.

My critique: like many of your units, this suffers from too many special rules and being hugely under priced. Typically, special characters have a three or four special rules, including special equipment. This has 8.
