Garro: Oath of Moment & Garro: Legion of One

The audio books are alright so far. The depiction of Curze's voice was quite good I thought. A big no-no was in the Dark King where it basically says that marines and their armour can't see in the dark at all. Pretty annoying that!

So it looks like they're releasing two audiobooks about Garro.

Hi Folks, first post here..... Be gentle!

I had the great pleasure to meet James Swallow at Salute 2010, and he relly is a nice guy, we had a chat about Oath of Moment and he had a copy of the cover art with him - he said to look at the background and asked me what I saw - I replied "Ultramarines?" half jokingly and he said "Correct"

The plot thickens, and he basicly dropped a masive hint that Garro is going to get involved with the Ultramarines in this one.

White Wolf :)

Thanks for the scoop WW. Don't take it personal though when people here get mad at you're news. There is a LOT of smurf hate here.

PS. I love your Exalted RPG.

I don't want to bring up the issue about the quality of audio books etc, but I wondered if anyone knows if these and others are eventually going to become paperback books. I only ask as I'm hard of hearing (doctors can't tell yet if I going to go totally deaf eventually or not... ) It just seems unfair that I may never be able to enjoy the stories because of it

He had better make this good. I don't want to end up with Roboute Guilliman returning and half my chapter fighting a civil war.

I don't mind them releasing audiobooks for short stories which are not in themselves 'essential' reading, but I can't help but feel a bit put out that the end of Garro's story comes only in audiobook form. I'm not a huge fan of audiobooks, but I will probably still buy them, just to find out what happens to everyones favourite loyalist Death Guard.

I don't think they came across like that at all. I believe the author was just trying to get across to the listener's just how evolved NL sight is in the dark. I felt like the Marines could see in the dark with their helms, but it wasn't perfect, ie, they couldn't penetrate shadows. I'm assuming the gear in their helm functions like most nightvision and simply amplifies existing light to create a picture. I don't see why they wouldn't/couldn't just switch to infrared.

Sorry for double post but....

Pssttt....use the EDIT button. ;-)

i also hate audiobooks, when i get a book i want to read it.

not have someone read it for me, i'm not 2 years old.

i would have preferred it if they had released the audiobooks as collection of short stories instead.

I'd say that is a tad insulting. I'm not a big fan of audiobooks, but I respect them for what they are. I would imagine that BL will combine all the audiobooks into an anthology and release it as a book. The Dark King was the first audiobook I've ever listened to. It wasn't terrible. The only thing that was cool about it was that I finished Dark King and Lightning Tower while driving to my inlaws in under an hour. There is a use for audiobooks, you just haven't found it yet.

so im assuming the marine on thecover of garro legion of one is actually the Luna wolf captain (Iacton Curze) and not garro

......... NOT! There is a well known Luna Wolf captain who uses ye ol' Bolter and Chainsword, but it's not the half heard. Curze uses a power weapon. That marine is Loken and that would make the war-zone in the background and book description Istvaan III,

I hope so. I don't have a problem with audiobooks, but as I've previously posted, I'm going deaf. It'll take years, but this option will eventually be no good to me, so I really hope someone in GW realises that not all of us can use this medium the way most people can.....

Pretty sweet if it is! :P

Eh? Why? :P

well.... We know Garro is a captain of the Death Guard legion. We know what he looks like in general because we have at least 3 art pictures. A real good one is on the cover of Oath of Moment. He is real eazy to spot because he has abig @$$ eagle on his armour chest plate. This was given to him by the Emperor. He was one of few who had the honer to wear the eagle out side of the Emperors Children legion.

The guy on the cover of Legion of One on the other hand has no eagle. He has a suit of armour painted in the colors of the Sons f Horus (with Luna Wolves legion icons). The armour is pretty beat up but not so bad you can't tell the legion.

The weaon load out is where you can get more info. Garro wields Libertas (large power sword). Icaton has a power sword also ( not as big an no name). Loken is known to roll with just a bolter an a chainsword. Nothing master crafted or special. He dose not need it.

Hate to break it to you guys its Cruze not loken. if you remember correctly Cruz reverted back to the luna wolves paint scheme when he linked up with garro in flight of the eisenstein. where as loken was in the new sons of horus livery when he landed on Istvaan 3 and as far was we know he didnt make it off planet. Also the shoulder pad icon looks sort of like the eye of horus.
