Space Wolf Kill-Team, Wolfblades

Well with news of the return of small scale games with kill-team who else has thought of a Wolfblade force?

I'm sketchy on the details but it sounds fun.

So there's four named Wolf Blades.

Haegr will have Thunder Hammer, Bolter and relentless (the bolter is to represent his two bolt pistols, though for some reason he can shoot them further...)

Torin will likely have a power sword and bolt pistol, perhaps a Heavy Bolter instead if HS choices can be taken

Ragnar will have Frost blade, bolt pistol and furious charge

Valkoth with some sort of sword, maybe a plasma pistol

And any left over points will be standard WG/LF pack leader of we can

Thoughts? I've not seen the book so this is just speculation at the minute.

I just took a very short look into the new book yesterday. You will have 200 points and you can choose 0-1 Elite, 0-2 Troop, 0-1 Assault. Don´t know how this is working exactly, but i guess that you can choose single models from those Units. For example 2 SW scouts (so no WG cause only 0-1 Elite) and so on. Next weekend i will take a closer look.
This is probably just nitpicking, but Ragnar used his regular chainsword until Belasarius awarded him a master crafted frost blade for his defense of their home. Not really a big deal.

Aye, if I can't find enough points I shall give him a humble chainsword, if I have points to spare it shall be after the events upon Terra.

Might give him rending actually, but it would make less sense.

Been tweaking with lists and this will probably be my "fun" list. A competitive list would probably use Wolf Scouts/Grey Hunters as the starting units.

I present my take on the Wolfblades:

Valkoth 38

Wolf Guard

Power Weapon

Combi-Plasma

Meltabombs

Relentless

Haegr 43

Wolf Guard

Thunder Hammer

Ragnar 43

Wolf Guard

Frost Blade

Meltabombs

Furious Charge

Torin 38

Wolf Guard

TDA

Heavy Flamer

Hit and Run

Unnamed 18

Wolf Guard

Unnamed 18

Wolf Guard

(The unnamed will be given suitable names. Could someone refresh my memory of the name of the Wolfblade who died on Hyades?) Also, Torin will likely be modelled in suitably ornate Power Armour but I really wanted a heavy/special weapon and it seemed the best way to represent the way he comes across in the books. I also wanted a power weapon haha

I don't remember Torin with a heavy Flamer in any of the books, although there were several places where he had a heavy bolter. ;)

That seems very strange to me. Only four models?

1: Wolf Guard

2: Grey Hunter

3: Grey Hunter

4: Thunder Wolf Cav Dude

Or am I reading that wrong? There'd be no reason to take scouts or Blood Claws.

Problem is there is no way to get him a Heavy Bolter unless a house rule was implemented It might just be my insanity but I seem to remember something about a flamer, I think it a suitable replacement, though I will want to model him in PA. I might just make him pistol and Power Weapon.

I think you have to take squads at minimum size. So at least 5 Grey Hunters, 3 Wolf Guard and so on.

Considering you can only give three special rules it would seem a bit silly otherwise.

Yeah. Decided against the Wolf Guard route in the end thanks to a nifty suggestion from a buddy during lectures today.

Valkoth 40

Grey Hunter

Power Weapon

Wolf Standard

Furious Charge

Torin 15

Grey Hunter

Flamer

Scouts

Ragnar 15

Grey Hunter

Rending

Unnamed 30

Grey Hunter

Plasma Pistol

Unnamed 30

Grey Hunter

Mark of the Wulfen

Haegr 60

Lone Wolf

TDA

Thunder Hammer

Haegr being a Lone Wolf is to represent the fact he is a tank and my Torin has a flamer, even if it didn't appear in the books. I like the idea of Torin being a relatively cunning/sneaky Wolfblade and of course the closer that flamer gets the better.

I feel 8 bodies might be cutting it fine but it's about style and telling a story. I don't see Kill-Team being uber-competitive, then again I don't play games that way but it should be a barrel of ale laughs turning up with six models. These will feature in the 40K in 40 minutes Kill-Team tourney they have planned at my store and their saga shall be told.

I did similiar but dropped the flamer and plasma pistol and instead went meltagun and added two fenrisian wolves to the Lone Wolf.

Lone Wolf, w/TDA, thunderhammer, fenrisian wolves x2

Grey Hunter w/melta, Tank Hunters

Grey Hunter w/power weapon, Furious Charge

Grey Hunter w/wolf standard

Grey Hunter w/Mark of Wulfen

Grey Hunter w/Rending
