Joasht
I'm thinking of purchasing a new vehicle for my Space Wolf army, but right now its down to either 2 Razorbacks (probably to be used as Rhinos, as the Razorback kit is only a few dollars more for that turret bit, thought I might as well pay for the turret) or a LRC/LRR. I cannot afford both, but I could afford one of the two options. I currently already have 3 Drop Pods and 2 Rhinos in the army, so I'm not sure if I should just go for a Rhino spam, or get the Land Raider to deliver my beloved Arjac into combat more dependably than a Drop Pod. What do you guys think? Thanks! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/193086-purchasing-decisions/ Share on other sites
Logan230
I vote for the Razorbacks, LRs are great but i find them to be kinda situational. Also 2 more vehicles is just more armor for him to shoot at. so better survivablitly. Wolf Lord Ronin
I'd say go for the Razorbacks too. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/193086-purchasing-decisions/#findComment-2293123 Share on other sites
ReyRex
If you already have 3 DPs and 2 rhinos, then get the LRC. You never mentioned how many points you tend to play. If you play smaller games you will get more mileage out of some Razorbacks. Two, if you have no other tanks to throw out there with your LRC, it will become a big fire magnet and will regret the purchase. Razorbacks again. If you are planning on building up, LRC. Xeenos
While ive not played yet, my army list as writen has 10 grey hunters with Arjac in a Redemer.. looks like some sexy melty madness.. drive up maybe even tank shok through a unit with the LRR, flame the troops on eather side with lovly AP 3 flamers and have Arjac and friends come out the front to :D own just about anything! But i suppose the logic of "If you dont have other tanks, LR will get burned down" makes sence, i hope to field something like 3 Vindicators, with 2 Rhinos and the LRR! Spacefrisian
The Redeemer isn't that good if you ask me. Its a range thing. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/193086-purchasing-decisions/#findComment-2293231 Share on other sites
wolf363839
Go for the LRC. It is useful in a variety of armies and allows your army to truly grow in size and scope. Plus, it just looks cool. That can go a long way in the enjoyment of the game. You can't beat the quality of that kit. I really like the few I've had. Commander Sasha
My vote is for the Razors: Don't glue the top plate in, and build a set of Gun mount, Closed hatch, open-hatch-with-two-guys-shooting alternatives. Put it this way: If you get two Razors, drive them as 'twin-linked tanks', running next to each other; bigger LoS block than the raider, target 2 enemies but with BS4 on both, transport 12 guys, and effectively an ablative tank! Meltabike threat? He can only pop one. Ooh, I'm gonna try this next game! (Oh yeah, and a few points left over for sweets and fists!) CarlSkaven
I use the LRC in everygame I can. It's never been destroyed or immobilised yet! (knock on wood) Yes it automaticaly draws a lot of fire but I tend to use it as much for that reason as to bring my 8 assault WG termies in the center of the ennemy army to split it down the center. It leave the rest of my army pretty free of heavy weapon fire for most of the game and give my ennemy a shooting dilema every turn! I would still go with the LRaider anytime since it is a mobile bunker/fire magnet/assault vehicule. And between us...IT JUST LOOKS SO GOOD! I am now forced to wrestle you to the ground on stomp on your head.. Metaphorically of course :D If the sole plan is that a unit is a fire magnet, thats all well and good for a 75pt. Scout Squad, but not, I say again not, for a unit that costs triple figures. CarlSkaven
I always move it the fastest possible speed while shooting toward the most valuable units my ennemy has and deliver my WG assault Termies with it and then move it to better shoot at another chewy target! It was always worth it! But then again... WE ALL HAVE DIFFERENT PLAY STYLE!
