Rumour Control
Hi, my first time on the space wolf part of the forum, Im usually in the ultramarines or dark angels parts, but now my interests have turned towards the space wolves and more so to a certain Mr Grimnar and his wolf guard TDA buddies. Ive played deathwing for a few years now and currently have a master of the forge list for my ultramarines, Im a big fan of anything involving TDA and dreadnoughts. So after boring you with a breif description of what im about onto my question. Whats the best combos for wolf guard squads in TDA from 'off the shelf' using the stock weapons and parts you get in the box? I still need to find a way of making decent looking combi weapons. Being a DW player im not used to having so many options for my terminators so a few doo's and dont's would be great. Heres what ive came up with so far: Wolf guard w/power weapon and storm bolter Wolf guard w/wolf claw and storm bolter Wolf guard w/wolf claw, cyclone and storm bolter Wolf guard w/powerfist and storm bolter Wolf guard w/storm shield and storm bolter Im trying to make the best use of wound allocation and i have a few spare cyclones knocking around. Thanks for looking and hopefully helping me out. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/193108-wolf-guard-terminators/ Share on other sites

Well, technically Cyclone Missile Launchers do not come in our box, but you have a few spares so you can certainly include those in your packs, as you develop those. Otherwise, you would be left with the Assault Cannon as your heavy weapon of choice. Also, there isn't a huge advantage to manipulation of wound allocation when you are dealing with single wound models. It can provide a slight benefit occassionally, but wound allocation really makes a big difference when you have a unit of multiple wound models that can all be equipped differently, like Ork Nob mobz, or Nob Biker mobz, for example. You can get some good Combi-Weapons from the plastic Commander box, from Bitz sites that sell components from this box, and there is a good blog with a tutorial on how to make them by simply combining special weapon parts with your Storm Bolters; I'll see if I can find the link for you to that blog. Otherwise, your unit looks good, and would be effective. CarlSkaven
I put all the assault weapons available in the kit! Coupled with some modeling on my old metal termies I now have 12 assault termies 4xTH/SS and the rest with wolf claws. Rumour Control
Thanks for the replys. I see what you mean about the wound allocation, it would help more if they had 2 wounds each, but they dont. I think im gonna try a assault force first, and then move onto a footslogger list. breng77
Wound allocation still helps with one wound models, Not as much as if they were 2 wounds, but it helps none the less. Take for example a squad of 10 space marines with a PW sergeant against the squad you mentioned. If they were to charge you they get 3 PW attacks and 18 regular attacks. Odds say that they Hit with 1.5 PW attacks and 9 regular attacks, and wound with 0.75 PW attacks and 4.5 regular attacks. However, lets say that they get 2 PW wounds and 4 regular wounds against your 5 terminators. Wound allocation will allow you to take the 2 PW wounds on your storm shield termi and leave the rest of the guys to make 2+ regular armor saves. This works equally well against enemies with rending. It also allows you to stack multiple wounds on single models so that 2 failed saves does not necessarily mean 2 dead terminators.
