WIP Marines Malevolent Commission

GLD

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Here's my latest commission - the Marines Malevolent. Quite nice to paint something other than all yellow for a change :-p

Not much to start, but you gotta start somewhere! This is the wip captain for the army!

Looks great. What is the reciepe you are using to paint them? I have seen so many ways people say to paint yellow, just like to know the one you are using.

What is the commission list for the army? What units?

It is good to see more Marines Malevolent coming from the warp to battle the Emperor's enemies.

I'll be watching this thread.

Cheers for the comments...

Yellow is:

Iyanden Darksun

Sepia Wash in the recesses

Iyanden Darksun over any spillages

2:1 Golden Yellow and Iyanden Darksun

Add some white to highlight

The black is about 70/30 chaos black/codex grey, with a bit more grey added for the highlights...

As for the list, it looks like an entire company - the first part of the commission is a Captain, Command Squad, Devastator Squad and 2 Tactical Squads...

Looking well smart!!

Funny i just picked up that mini to paint for my Malevolents, also looking at removing the stock bolter but i am looking at replacing it with a plasma gun.

As Brother Varen said, nice to see some more Malevolents!!! :)

Here we go with the finished pics of the Marines Malevolent Captain. My client wanted to keep the base simple, hence the tarmac type scheme.

I'll probably add a Malevolent symbol on the left shoulder pad once I have practices it a bit more!

Awesome paintjob. I like the old backpack too. Only thing I've noticed, and feel free to ignore me, is the cables on the back of his legs. I personally would have them a different colour, but that's a personal thing I think. Excellent work though. Good luck with the commision.

I may indeed re-visit the pipes on the back of the legs...

The skulls are very simple...

Dhneb Stone base

Devlan Mud Wash

Watered down and layered on bleached bone

Bleach bone and White 1:1 mix as a highlight
