terrain and pre own rhino problems

Ok it been awhile since i posted anything(life has been very horrible lately ;) ) and just need some basic modeling advice. My pre owned rhino with forgeworld salamander parts came in today(got it for $20). Everthing fine except the prevous owner super glue the rhino back door backward. I don`t know want to do to fix this problem. Also it been working on terrain alot lately but for bases i use cut up, for sale signs. So when every thing done, the base willn`t stay flat but will warp up. so how do i fix this problem or want other basing material should i use. thanks for reading.

I use a stuff called masonite for terrain basing. It is basically sawdust and lots of glue. It is rather dense and you will be much happier if you use a saw to cut it. A small coping saw should do the trick. If your not in the US I don't know what it is called. here is the wiki for it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masonite

As for the rhino doors, there are several solutions that you use for dunking models in to strip the paint that will also remove the superglue. You might have to reassemble the rhino but it would solve your door problem. Search on the board for paint stripping methods and you should find it.

The rear door shouldn't be too much of a problem:

First cut the hinge at the bottom. You'll need to replace this if you want the door mobile.

You should then be able to insert a thin metal blade between the hull and the door. Use this to pry the door outwards. Apply the force near the sides to prevent the door and frame frome stressing too much. If it's poly cement of some sort that's been used you'll have more of an issue.

You may get damage on the inside edges, but it's all pretty flat so is simple enough to clean up. A chisel-end knife blade works well for this.

I'd go with winterdyne's suggestion. Chop out the old rear door, and glue a new one in place.

If you'd prefer not to go that route, you can glue a flat piece of your for-sale sign over the backward door. Dress it up with a couple rivets at the top and bottom, and maybe an Aquila decoration in the center.
