I think the title speaks for itself. I will start the ball rolling, with

Alizebeth Bequin: Thandie Newton (Mrs Baxter in RocknRolla)

Uber Aemos: Ian McKellen (Gandalf)

Narlon Nayl: Eric Bana (Hector in Troy)

Godwyn Fischig: Sean Bean (Boromir in Lord of the Rings)

Gregor Eisenhorn: No Idea

Lord Inquisitor Allesandro Rorken: Patrick Stewart (A guy in Star Trek)

Commodus Voke: Bruno Ganz (Adolf Hitler in Der Untergang)

and the one I am most proud of:

Cherubael: Hugo Weaving (Elrond, Agent Smith)

"Mr Eisenhorn"

There's one complication in the Eisenhorn role though - he loses his ability for facial expressions fairly early on. Whoever you get to play Eisenhorn has got to be able to act without the need for facial expression and be able to keep a rigidly straight face.

That makes it much easier: Keanu Reeves! :)

good point. Although I do think that Keanu Reeves look too young. but if GW makes this in 5 years...

Also all the best actors should be able to do this without facial expressions, anyone who knows what commedia dell arte is should understand this.

maybe, I think Cherubael should be played by Johhny Depp

I hoped someone would mention this. I considered Depp, but he just isn't sinister enough, compared to Agent Smith.

Agreed. Depp might do well as an Inquisitor, but if you could choose Hugo Weaving for Cherubael why wouldn't you?

Alizebeth Bequin: Jennifer Connelly (or...Rachel Weisz?!)

Uber Aemos: Terry Pratchett (Whats that? he's an author and not an actor? shut up! look at his face)

Narlon Nayl: Mickey Rourke (Its about physicality and killyness with'ol Harlon and Rouke has that in buckets)

Godwyn Fischig: David Morse (Great face and has the bulk to play the Chastener)

Midas Betancore: Harold Perrineau (tough to call, not will smith....)

Young Gregor Eisenhorn: Kevin McKidd (Drop the Scottish accent and the ginger and i think we're on the money)

Old Eisenhorn: Anthony Hopkins or Pete Postlethwaite (Great call there on Pete, what a face.)

Lord Inquisitor Allesandro Rorken: Ken Watanabe (I know he's not Asian in the novel but Watanabe is the only actor i can of think of that can do potent and calm)

Commodus Voke: Anthony Hopkins

I've been having a ponder over this, there's been some really good suggestions as well but I'm going to throw some more into the mix...

Alizebeth Bequin: Morena Baccarin (Inara from 'Firefly').

Uber Aemos: Pete Postlethwaite (Yeah, he's been mentioned before but he's got to have a shout in my list as he lives down the road from my folks).

Harlon Nayl: Well, got a number of options here, Craig Fairbrass (the guy who's been touted for the Ultras film), Jason Statham (Everyone's favourite british merc/thug), Adam Baldwin (again of 'Firefly'/Chuck) - He's got to be in the mix.

Godwyn Fischig: This is a tough one, he's got to have some age but be hard as nails (ah, harlon nayl/hard as nails - never noticed that before!) as well... possibly Ron Perlman? He's always making an appearance in stuff like this.

Gregor Eisenhorn: In fear of typecasting an actor but I saw Soloman Kane last night and James Purefoy was the perfect =][= character. Little facial expression too...

Lord Inquisitor Allesandro Rorken: C'mon, there's only 1 man for the job of an =][= Lord... Christopher Lee!!!

Commodus Voke: Heh heh heh, my personal favourite that I'm particularly proud of, Kevin Spacey FTW! Dr Lector may be one of the recognised bad asses of the film world but Kaiser Sozay(!?!) comes close and both are far eclipsed by John Doe in Se7en. There is none more genius, evil or deranged!

Cherubael: Well, hats off, Hugo Weaving is a fantastic option but I'd question if his voice could go high enough (Priscilla Queen of the Desert may prove me wrong but I've not seen it lately so can't be sure).

Godwyn is the stumbling point... will consider it a little more...

Gregor Eisenhorn: Aaron Eckhart or maybe Hugh Jackman

Alizebeth Bequin: Jeniffer Connolly

Uber Aemos: Pete Postlethwaite

Harlon Nayl: Jason Statham

Godwyn Fischig: Russell Crowe

Lord Inquisitor Allesandro Rorken: Christopher Lee

Commodus Voke: Anthony Hopkins

Cherubael: a warped composite of whoever's vessel he is using.

Godwyn Fischig: Russell Crowe

Cherubael-a warped composite of whoever's vessel he is using

Russel Crowe. Meh. Just because he was good as Maximus does not mean that he would be any good as an Arbites Chastener. He is also just...a wee bit fat.

Cherubael-definetely, but always voiced by Hugo Weaving. I just think that his voice for Agent Smith is perfect for it.

It's been a while since I read Eisenhorn but I have some ideas.

If we ignor the obvious reason why its not possible, I think John Wayne would have been an ideal candidate for the title role.

More realistic option for me would be Mel Gibson.

I think Cherubael should be Bowie, I actually imagined he'd talk like Bowie and the man has a mystical looking face (His eyes are different colours).

Fischig, I'd go with Ross Kemp.

Thats my imput for now.

If they did make this move I'd want the sound track done by either Prince or Glen Campbell.

Now that is genius!

Next question is who would direct?

Sure there'll be the shouts for Spielburg or Jackson but neither have impressed me with anything great in the last few years. Lucas is a definite no-no and I'd herd him away from it with an electric cattle prod in fear that he'd take it and go all 'Phantom Menace' on the project.

Del Toro could do it justice, I'm a massive fan of his but I'm not sure whether he's got the eye for Sci-fi. For my money there's one outstanding candidate who could give this the attention necessary, Neill Blomkamp who directed last years District 9. He proved that he could handle a story line whilst delivering edge of your seat action sequences (the last sequence in District 9 still puts me in mind of a crisis suit in action).

All we need to do is get a producer on board and we're in business!!! heh heh heh
