Ntin
The new Codex: Ork FAQ released today added this little gem. Q. Can you use the Deffrolla when Ramming vehicles or does it only work when Tank Shocking non-vehicle units? A. The death rolla does indeed inflict D6 S10 hits against vehicles, as Ramming is just a type of Tank Shock. It has been stated that ramming is a type of tank shock means Gargantuan Creatures can play Godzilla and several codices that have upgrades that allow transports to tank shock, can also ram. GreatEscape_13
And everyone at da Waaaugh Forums just crapped themselves. That debate has been raging for ages, with most siding opposite of the way GW did. Good for GW, bad for AV 14 vehicles, and good for encouraging Orks to be more Orky. Cheers. boreas
Wow... We've always played it that way. Didn't even know that was a problem! It is pretty strong. I've seen a battlewagon with deffrolla wack a few rhinos in a KP game. Mycroft Holmes
Yeah, this ruling has just made the Deff-Rolla equipped BattleWagon the Ork's most consistent form of heavy armor vehicle counter. Brother Nihm
It is strong, but fitting and is very much in keeping with fluff (a rare occurrence). stinkenheim
in fairness though the Deff Rolla is only available to battlewagons, and yes front on they are hard to destroy but they only have armour 14/12/10 so if you get any sort of angle they are easy to take out. also they are open topped so you gain +1 to your damage rolls. so yeah, they hurt and if they get a ram on your vehicles they will likely hurt them badly but they aren't as resiliant as alot of other heavy vehicles so get smashing with power fists and meltas ;) one other thing, my friend plays orks and he is delighted, now he constantly rams/tank shocks with his battlewagon, typical ork. as far as im concerned if it makes you play to the fluff of your army its an excellent rule and its fun. Niiai
I was wondering. Can you "ork up" a baneblade? It is an official model after all is it not? And it would be a great looted tank. (Just build some towers and stuff and have it like a mobile cruizer with jacuzies.) stinkenheim
you could use it as a skullhammer or whatever the super heavy was called in the Apoc book. or use it as a battlewagon. its probably too big to be classed as a 'looted wagon', they seem to be leman russ/chimera/rhino sized vehicles.
