Hrothgar Beastslayer
generally a game of 200 pts, 1 Hq 2 troops 1 of all the others, used to be a big thing before 5th ed took it out, and i sbeing brought back in Battle mission. Btw no unit coherency which i think is sweet for wolves. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/193393-kill-team/#findComment-2297295 Share on other sites
Mortis Crux
generally a game of 200 pts, 1 Hq 2 troops 1 of all the others, used to be a big thing before 5th ed took it out, and i sbeing brought back in Battle mission. Btw no unit coherency which i think is sweet for wolves. Correction: The new Battle Missions book notes (coutesy of DakkaDakka): KILL TEAMS! here are the rules - You have 200 points to spend Special FOC: 0-1 Elite, 0-2 Troops, 0-1 Fast Attack - 3 models in that army may choose any Universal Rule to add to that specific models (Only 1 UR per model and no repeating, so no Wolf Lords with feel no pain AND preferred enemy and no terminators with 2 of them both having feel no pain) - Each model moves, shoots, and assaults as an individual unit - Models do not need to be in coherency - No Vehicles, but dedicated transports are allowed - Models can split their shots at different enemy models. (Say a SM scout is firing a heavy bolter, it shoot at up to three things) - Models in assault with more than one enemy model can split their attacks similar to the shooting rules - No HQ or Heavy Support Choices - Once either Kill Team is under half points it must start taking leadership tests at the highest surviving member's leadership at the beginning of each turn with a -1 modifier on subsequent turns. I'm not sure about this part, but I think failing the leadership test results in a loss. - Unless there are more iterations, it is a simple annihilation mission with the rules above. - Terrain must fill the entire board unless it is specific, such as roads or sidewalks or lots. Xeenos
Wow that looks like it could be fun.. could field like.. 10 scouts with snipers for 180 + a Lone Wolf.. or like 4 Thunder Wolves? With the special rules your alowed to hand out.. Mmm.. to Dreds as Vehicles? Hmm.. 10 grey Hunters with a Razor back + extra Storm Bolter.. Or 5 Grey Hunters 5 Blood Claws + same razorback for some pewpew tell things get in melee.. :o <_< The options are exciting! Could almost field like.. Lukas + 4 Blood Claws, but that makes you 15 points over. Depending on the density of the table your useing, i think the 10 scout snipers would be disgusting, with the Lone Wolf there to eat anything that gets to close! Though i suppose you can change it a little to give the Lone Wolf more upgrades.. MaveriK
I've never played "Kill Team" and it sounds really fun. However, I have a question that I hope someone can clarify for me. Let's say want to field a Lone Wolf for example, however the Lone Wolf already has special rules that grants him several universal rules already. Rules like Feel No Pain and Eternal Warrior. Not to mention the standard acute senses, counter attack and fearless that comes by being a Lone Wolf.. Anyway, wouldn't that conflict with the... "3 models in that army may choose any Universal Rule to add to that specific models (Only 1 UR per model and no repeating, so no Wolf Lords with feel no pain AND preferred enemy and no terminators with 2 of them both having feel no pain)" or am I missing something here? I mean wouldn't it be cheese if you or someone added onto either one of the following for example; Infiltrate, Scout, Furious Charge in a Lone Wolf for a Kill Team scenario? I may consider an Iron Priest mounted on a thunderwolf, although expensive. It leaves about 105pts left to play with Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/193393-kill-team/#findComment-2298360 Share on other sites
Coverfire
Would an Iron Priest's retinue of thralls or cyberwolves count as individual models or would they have to stay as a unit as it is a retinue? And if they do have to stay as a unit could you still give the thralls/cyberwolves universal special rules or as "wargear" would they be unable to take advantage of it?
