Hear da Lamentation
Not really knowing much on the 'Nid rules, something came up when I played them last night, which I would like clarification on. I will post a more detailed review of the fight later, but it transpired that the Nid player brought on (via reserve) a unit of gargoyles which were OUT of synapse range. Now .. the question was this. Do they have to take a leadership roll to move onto the table (at all) / do they move just on to the table, then take the leadership test to move their 12" / or do they just move on 12" and only have to take a leadership test next round?? To me ... it seemed like they should only be able to move onto the board if they pass a leadership test (or they should have been brought on the board within synapse range.) Clearly though - I had a vested interest. Would like to know what those of you more knowledgable about Nid issues have to say. H.D.L. dick dudero
read the reserve rules. "If a unit has a special rule forcing it to move in a specific direction (such as rage for example) or that could stop it from moving, the rule is ignored in the phase when it arrives from reserve." pg 94 big black book. so he was totaly right. Next time check the big book  . Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/193519-nid-rule-and-synapse/#findComment-2298912 Share on other sites
Emperor's Instrument
I suppose there are going to obviously be two trains of thought on this. First one being that the unit can move onto the table as normal coming in from reserve and then in it's next turn becoming susceptible to it's instinctive behaviour 'Lurk'. The other way being that the unit takes the Leadership test when coming in from reserve straight away. If it fails then it behaves as per the Lurk behaviour. I suppose this is a debate that will vary depending on stores and gaming groups because I couldn't find anything in either the codex or the BRB (but I am tired so may have missed it). Possibly this will be one of those things that GW will have to put into a FAQ document. Sorry I couldn't be anymore help but as I've got the 'Nid codex I thought I'd try anyway. Hear da Lamentation
Thanks Emperor, looks like dick has nailed it for me though. Thanks dick, it was late and in the heat of battle. We looked at the special rules because I thought it would say something specific there. Should have thought about the reserve rules. Poo ! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/193519-nid-rule-and-synapse/#findComment-2298920 Share on other sites
