SW Rune Priests and Lone Wolf

in an attempt to broaden my conversion experience I tried to convert some chaos terminators into 2 different rune priests, and my first lone wolf model.

As these guys are supposed to be the more heroic brothers of the Space Wolves company I thought tru scaling would do them justice.

Of the things I've learnt.

- Practice, practice, practice

- Things look way different under harsh light

- GS will not stick to the model after 15-20 mins (no matter how much you swear at it)

- When smoothed correctly GS looks great, but looks like smeg if its not.

- GS Beards are tough

- keeping fingerprints off GS is even tougher

The energy arcs (spirals) on the rune weapons looked really good before painting, but don't look so hot now.

The tru scaling is more obvious with the lone wolf, I wanted to keep the hooded part of the terminator armor for the rune priest to indicate the Psychic hood.

its more obvious in side shots, that the rune priest hood only covers the head, and tapers down to the back where the backpack connects.

I've still got a fair amount of highlighting to do on the armor and will need to add a few more layers to even out the colors.

But I could really do with some help with the painting.

The lighting effect painting does not look how I planned it at all, and I would appreciate some pointers on how to pull it off.

;)

Same with the blue to white energy arcs, I just dont know where to go from here.

Haha, fair enough.

I like your sculpts. And yes, even though heretical, you've mostly make the armor seem passable-loyalist.

The painting, however, leaves something to be desired. Its probably the harsh light you were talking about, but the paint looks a bit thick. I also dislike the blue lightning coils. Its a nice concept, but they don't really add to the model
