Greywolf
Hello B and C forum members, its time once again to punch in and help a great organization help some really great kids! Thats right, the Battle for the Shrine 2010 is right around the corner on April 18th, 2010 (a Sunday). This year we are making it bigger and better. We will still have the main event of the multi-player Apoc. Mega Battle, but we are adding more. 40K Death Race will be on the agenda again this year, a juniors event that will tie in with the main event and affect the outcome, a painting comp., junior painting comp., open gaming, food on site, and a host of other activities. We also hope to raise our contribution to the Shriners Children's Hospital from last year's $700 to $1,000 this year. That will only be possible with the help of fellow gamers such as the fine folks here at the Bolter and Chainsword forums! This year's raffle features a huge list of sponsors donating some great prizes. These include: Base Camp Pizza 40K Radio MiniWarGaming.com Chessex BattleFoam Mana Energy Potion Sabol Army Builder and even the tight fisted Games Workshop themselves! I will post an information link shortly. You can get details on the event as well as purchase custom BFTS 2010 dice and t-shirts! Tickets for the raffle are available also (non attendees are only eligible for the fully painted army grand prize). 100% of the proceeds from the sale of BFTS items go directly to the Shriners Hospital. So, if you are a local gamer or fancy a road trip, come on out and support a great cause while you punch in and rip the faces off of your enemies! http://www.battlefortheshrine.webs.com/ If you don't want to use paypal for any items, please feel free to contact me and I can handle it for you through check, money order, meeting in person for cash, etc. and if need be, get the items mailed to you for around $2. http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u283/Wigginisms/Warhammer/BFTS2010Dice.jpg http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u283/Wigginisms/Warhammer/HPIM1258.jpg Grand Prize (some pics of pieces can be seen at the above website): I have finished the 1000 point Tyranid list I plan to paint as the grand prize in our charity raffle. Here it is: HQ Tervigon 1 160 Scything Talons 5 Acid Blood 15 Toxic Miasma 15 Cluster Spines 0 catalyst 15 Toxin Sacs 10 220 Troop Homegaunts 16 96 Toxin Sacs 32 128 Troop Genestealers 9 126 Scything Talons 16 Toxin Sacs 27 Broodlord 46 Scything Talons 2 473 Heavy Mawloc 1 170 Termigaunts* 16 0 TOTAL= 991points *The tervigon can create 3D6 Termigaunts (that count as troops) at the start of each movement phase. These troops then act as normal immediately in that turn. Also any termigaunt units within 6" bennefit from his toxin sacs (poison 4+.) This seems like a good starter list. The Tervigon has no mini, so I will get to convert one. All the player would need is a nasty HQ, and the Tervigon could then be counted as a Troop itself. Add some Zoies in a spore for the anti-armor and you would have a decent 1500 list. I like the idea of creating free scoring units with the tervigon at the start of each turn. The sixteen models i'm including are most likely not enough for six turns worth, but it's already going to be plenty of stuff to get painted by April 18th ;) -Fisher Apocalypse Battle Scoring and Information: We are going to make it a 3000 point Apocalypse battle again. The scoring, and reserves/with out number rules will remain in effect. Those who played last year will know what this is reference to. Army Composition: All players are asked to draw up an army list of not more than 3000 points. No force org chart, but three troops mandatory. Superheavies/legendary/Imperial Armor is allowed. All units in your list will be able to return to play limitless times, at your own discretion. The winning team will be in control of the majority of three Shrines spread across the battlefield. Apocalypse rules will be in effect, and formations are allowed (limit one per force/player.) Strategic assets will be assigned by the moderator, and cannot be taken by any individual player. Prizes will be awarded to the player(s) with the most kill points as described below. Scoring, destroying: A unit is destroyed when it takes its last wound, or a result of destroyed (or explodes) is determined. Standard scoring for the annihilate scenario are used in determining what is or is not a unique and separate unit, therefore worth its own kill point. Kill points are awarded at the end of each sides turn. Points are cumulative, so a CSM daemon prince is worth 5 kill points. Player scores can never be negative, and every player starts the day at zero. Players can stop, and start at any given turn, penalties will continue to accrue on their score for every turn they are absent. Multi wound Monsters/Vehicles: For monstrous creatures and vehicles only: Points are awarded to everyone who contributes a wound in that game phase. Vehicle damage should be applied at the end of a turn phase (in other words, a result of destroyed during the current turn phase will not count until the end of that phase, allowing all parties on the attacking team shots/swings at the target should they wish to take them. Multiple destroyed results from separate players would merit multiple players scoring in that phase; however, no single player can score extra for destroying the same vehicle multiple times in the same phase.) Sacrifice: Any unit that a player chooses can be sacrificed. In doing so the controlling player removes the unit from the table at the start of his/her turn, and every player on the opposing side is awarded ONE kill point regardless of the unit being sacrificed. This option cannot be used by a unit in close combat (except for vehicles with no WS, as they are never locked in combat.) The sacrificed unit must sit the remainder of that turn in reserves. It will not be eligible to return until the start of the following turn, and can come back on via whatever deployment it is allowed as though it were in reserve from the start of the game, with no damage at full strength. Negative Modifiers: Although scoring is done at the end of each player turn, some modifiers are negative to balance the advantages of certain units. These modifiers are used once for each that applies at the start of each player turn, and are cumulative (-1 for each superheavy for example.) If a player decides to sacrifice one of his/her Baneblades at the start of his or her turn, they will still receive the -1 kill point for it in that turn, as the sacrifice and modifier occur simultaneously. Reserve Rules/ Without Number: All non-troop reserves are brought in whenever the player wishes them to be (or not, any non-troop unit can be left off of the table indefinitely). No rolls are needed, and all units destroyed are put back into the player’s reserves. These can be brought back via whatever deployment method the player wishes (dedicated transports and their squad must both be in reserve at the same time in order to re-deploy them. For example a dreadnaught that has been destroyed, but arrived via a drop pod must wait for his drop pod to be destroyed, or sacrificed by the controlling player, before returning to play. Troop units must be brought back immediately at the start of the turn they become available. Every player must have at least three separate troop choices on the force org chart in his or her list (troop and transport=one choice for this requirement.) The list you bring to use is your list, and cannot be changed or modified during the game. No switching of wargear, or substitutions of units. The approved list is what you have and that is all that you have. Description = Number of Kill points awarded Scoring Kill Points: 1) Every infantry squad (not an HQ, vehicle or monster) or vehicle with front armor 12 or less, completely destroyed = 1 2) Any HQ unit destroyed = 2 3) Any monstrous creature destroyed = 3 4) Any vehicle with front armor greater than 12 = 3 5) Any Superheavy/Imperial Armor/Legendary Unit = 5 6) Destroying any combination of three or more of 3, 4, or 5 in one turn = 10 7) You stunned or immobilized three or more vehicles in one turn = 3 8) You missed (did not wound/glance/pen) with every heavy, and/or strength 8+ weapon you shot in this turn = 5 9) You killed a model from more than one squad with a single shot = 3 10) You forced three or more enemy squads to ground in one turn (pinning or voluntary) = 5 11) Each unit you have within 6” of a sacred shrine = 1 point per unit 12) The team that wins the battle = 20 each player Negative Modifiers: 1) Your core list is more than 1500 points. = -1 2) Your core list is 3000 points = -1 3) You are using a superheavy vehicle in your army list, and it is currently in play = -1 point for each one 4) Your force has more than 2 named characters = -1 5) You currently have more points in reserve than on the table = -1 5) You have no units left on the table = -10 6) Every non superheavy vehicle with armor 13 or higher, or any unit worth over 450pts starting strength you have left in play = -1 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/193660-battle-for-the-shrine-2010/ Share on other sites
