Jump Pack Wolf Priests

Hi all, I was pondering new army lists the other day and an idea occured to me. Could a lone wolf priest with a jump pack hop around the table lending his abilities to, say, grey hunters in CC. In other words, if a grey hunter squad and he charge the same enemy unit would the grey hunters gain Prefered enemy and rearless for that combat. I'm sorry if its a stupid question but its been nagging me and I can't find an answer.

Pretty sure the Jump Pack rules are Universal so..

No, he can't as a JP-equipped IC cannot join a non-JP Squad/Pack.

Not true. Nothing stops a JP equipped IC from joining a footslogging squad.

But once upon a time, it did... Right?

EDIT: This is why I should never be allowed to reply to a post first... ;)

So long as the Priest joins the pack before they charge, if they charge and he charges separately they cannot benefit (at least that's how I read it)

This is true. the Wolf Priest must be joined before close combat. Otherwise he is simply running into an assault at the same time as a squad that has no ties to him and only he would get the preferred enemy. Just because he assaults at the same time doesn't mean he has joined the grey hunters in their unit.

Same is said for coming in after the initial grey hunter assault. If the GH's assault first then the wolf priest in a later assault phase, he would count as being an independant character joining close combat and not linked to the grey hunter squad.
