You don't have to move 24"' just over 18", so it is very very easy to get behind some buildings and be out of LOS. Then next turn you hop over the building and give the enemy a taste of Heavy Flamer.

Let's put it this way. I love my typhoon but I realize that even with turboboosting the fact that it can be effectively neutralized by anything stronger than a Lasgun does not give me illusions as to its overall survivability.

 

I understand the point of this article and it's true that you should rarely waste the high powered shot on the LS simply because there is such a wealth of Str 4 and even Str 5 weapons simply littering the battlefield that actually have a chance of disabling (not neccesarily destroying) a priority Speeder.
